Exactly. If you are going to spend the time needed to make a total conversion, re-creating something that already exists seems like a pretty poor use of it.

ET won’t die as long as people want to play it, and I don’t see the point in recreating it in another engine after that.

(I don’t see a point in recreating it in another engine before that either, unless you want to kill it.)

If you recreate ET as a mod then maybe the two communites can merge. Instead of playing two diffrent games they can both play the same one - either QW as QW itself or QW with the ET mod.

So I think that ET mod is a good idea - that way everyone can buy QW and everyones tastes will be satisfied.

I suppose that not everyone will want to switch at firist, but if this mod makes at least a few people upgrade to QW, than it was worth the effort.

Also, if you have already spent money on buying QW, I think you would also like to be able to play ET with better graphic (and all other improvments that QW brings) even if it is only a mod to QW.

You’re just clutching at straws to think of a reason now. As i said, dump your mario 64 game config, play on full detail with full AA+AF and you’ve got better graphics and the same good ole gameplay. Hell you’re writing QW off before you’ve even played the game! It may be 10 times better than ET. Half of you instantly tweak the game as soon as you get it to look just like ET anyway, which throws your better graphics reason out the window.

It amazes me to think that so many of you think that you’re not gonna get the ET gameplay in ET:QW, and want a free game that you have just now anyway ported over to replace it. Wait till you play the game before writing it off…

Wheres the fire Darkangel?
I didn’t wirte off the game, I just thought that it would be nice to have an ET mod as a diffrent approach to the game and for nostalgias sake. I myself do not plan to play old ET after QW comes out. So it would be nice to have it all in one package with QW graphic. And we need a mod since it will not be ET it will be ET:QW with its own specific gameplay.
After all if someone wants to make an ET mod then why not? Theres already a dozen other modes planned and the game isnt even out yet

That’s the thing you all want someone to make it for you, i don’t see anyone jumping to say “oh yeah ill do it, who’s with me?!”. Imo it’s absolutely pointless to remake something that’s current and in working order… nostalgia’s sake? The game’s still alive!! You yourself dont plan to play ET when QW comes out… but if an ET mod is made, you’ll play ET… sorry i dont get that all. ALl those dozens of mods planned are original i bet, non of this rehashed stuff of a game that’s still active! Pointless…
