I have no clue to be honest. The general pattern i get though is that empty servers get filtered by id masterserver. They just do not get sent. I see that if there is at least 1 bot or 1 human player, the server will be sent again by id masterserver. Otherwise not. It could take a while though until id masterserver realizes that the server changed from completely empty to player/human connected. I compared now more than 20 servers and this seems to be the pattern. I am quite tired though and did not want to compare like a hundred O_O If you find one on the list down which does not fit the pattern, then tell me and my theory is nullified. Whatever helps!! It would be also very useful for me to help me debug my tool ^^ Some addresses seem buggy, i do not know why.

So that means if you ever have an empty server (no bots/humans), then it will not appear in your ingame server browser list, because id masterserver does not send it. Unless they change behaviour tomorrow, this is not going to change i guess.

Remains to be found out what the filtered servers on client side are and if they are valid. Maybe these are ping > 999. I doubt that normal servers are getting filtered. If you get one from id, then this one should be displayed. The thing is. When you received the servers from the masterserver, your et client then probes each and individual, received server, to get stats like ping (see getInfo if i remember correct). If you probe a server which is not valid, then it will get filtered.

Thanks for help acQu. You have right. When server is empty it does not show it on the list, but when I went in on the server I saw it already on the list.

I notice the same, thats why i cant see my etpro server on list sometimes when it is empty its not shows up on the list.
That is a shame, servers without bots running right now will be out of the master server list, why the hell this list are acting like that if the default WET released by SD not has bots included???
Wel i cant understand this mistery of the master server list, seems ID are a bunch of ********* guys, and after see this i not will buy anything from ID software anymore.

Yes, all empty servers are “filtered”. Please do not get confused by the word “filtered”, that is another, completely different problem on client side. What i am refering to is the filtering of the masterserver itself. It just filters some servers it gets hearbeat from and does not send them. Those are the empty servers.

So, do you get different results ? Open your Open ingame server and check for yourself. Maybe you use Paul Masterserver. With id masterserver there should not appear any single server in your list. Filter it by players amount and scroll down to least crowded servers. You will not see any empty server!!!

If you happen to see some empty servers, then this is exception. It will disappear again after a few minutes, namely when Masterserver realizes it is empty.

I posted picture of manual to show that at that time empty servers were sent by id masterserver. So it acted different at that time i think.

i can see like 120-130 servers also, so its probably not just you

but im happy cuz masterlist is back nd my server still lives
