Does 2.55 exist for Mac OS X?

Basically, the gaming clan I’m currently with switched server mods from NQ version 2.60 to etpub version 2.55.

I’ve searched in many places but have failed to find a version 2.55 for Mac OS X. Since 2.55 is the base version, there seems to be no patches available either to correct the problem.

As far as I know, Macs can only use the 2.60, 2.60b, 2.60c, and 2.60d downloads. So are these assumptions correct or am I mistaken? Is there any way to access 2.55 servers for Mac users?

I believe that a version 2.55 exists for Linux, but not for Mac, so would it be worth it to install Linux on my Mac for the sole purpose? Furthermore, would it be painless and hassle free to set the game up that way?

no 2.55 for macs, it is very buggy and shouldn’t be used by anyone for any reason on any platform

i know someone was searching for 2.55 mac version for some time now, i’ll let him know. i think is a matter of choice betwen 2.55 and 2.60. Servers run pretty well on 2.55 too, except etpro (no hitsounds) but others have no “real” bugs. I’ve played 2.55 for some years now, and i would not pass to 2.60. Play for fun only, no scrims. I’ll never understand why so many people think 2.55 is an preistoric version, and all nabs play here. Cheaters are in both versions, and opposite to some opinions PB versions apply to both version as well. It not like rtcw1.0 and rtcw 1.44, not such difference…
