I made this a while ago for fun, they are no objectives,

I tried my best to get 1:1 ratio with the original map (E1M1) from Wolfenstein 3D
all the secret areas are all includes too.

This map has no Objective because i am not sure what would work.

Any have any suggestions for Objectives ?

I am starting on the first Level on Doom 1 :slight_smile:

It is really difficult trying to get the Ratio/Map Size to be alike Doom 1 (e1m1)

All i need is WW2 weapons and monsters, Doom 3 is an awesome engine and lot faster then Quake 3 Engine, its could be perfect for ET2

You can still achieve a similar performance of Quake 3 engine in Doom 3. Ok, It may sound false at first, but there are some details that have been not taken into consideration.

I won’t enter in details basically because of its complexity.

I messed around with IDtech3 for a while, and just recently learning the ropes of Doom 3, although. I not sure how VIS Works in Doom 3, or the Lighting

I have a tool that converts ET Maps into Doom 3.


Doom 3 has its Source Code Release, so you could potentially Strip its Assets and make a Free WolfMP (SP?) game.
i doubt Quake Wars source will be release with this Zenimax crap.

Sure as you said Can be nice to find some ideas to Improve WET… (if not too big files to download : to big downloads are scaring players & also Should be auto-intalled at the connection to a WET Server) : if those suggestions are not respected… players can never come to play… they generally go to play to another place.

Again… I suggest to all MOD Creators to work together… why create and recreate many times the sames things on Different MODs ? Can be perhaps better to manage one good One that permit more customs… ?

ET Maps can be ported into Doom 3, although Textures would need to be Aligned and Quake 3 Shaders rewritten into Doom 3 Materials
all it needs is the Game Code.

You don’t want a really advanced 3D engine for ET2, otherwise player base would be limited to the high end PC User, Doom 3 is fairly old, and thus Fast on low end hardware of today.

I remade the First Section of Wolf3D into Doom 3, using RTCW Textures.

Doom 3 is a faster Engine then ET, it would run a lot smoother.

Foliage is also possible in D3

RTCW is also Open Source now.

RTCW doesn’t have the XP System, Command Map or the Head HUD, and i don’t own a copy of RTCW anymore.

I want the he XP System in WolfET to acts in the same manner as the Score in Wolf3D, i’v already placed Treasure and Turkeys on the map.

I think a Single Player mod would suit Wolf:ET

with “item_treasure”, i can place Gold on the map, although you cant pick them up, would be nice if they give you XP.

i also have Turkey Plates, although the Turkey don’t show but gives you health.

The Guard could be an “Axis Soldier” holding a Lugar

SS would then hold only an MP40

The Venom could be ported from RTCW to be used as the Chaingun of Wolf3D
