I Instaled ET on my new pc and when I play it, its says

LW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

you need to update your video drivers from the manufacturers site, Windows update will not give you opengl capable drivers and will even bork your previous driver install if it worked before

don’t listen to them, they’re european thugs.

their suggestions would probably make your computer think in metric binary, instead of the god given imperial binary, or they’d make your computer spew out selected L.Ron Hubbard poems.

i’d take a guess and say that you probably need to replace your tapir with a new one.or if you don’t have a tapir, that’s prolly your problem.

Asking about opengl fix at SD forums is like most 1337noobness

First: you never heard of updating drivers
Seccond: Don’t understand why they invented google.

Hey, there’s nothing wrong with asking a question here. Sometimes I like to go directly to experts, rather than trying to google for it.
We all had to start somewhere.

I’m actually from europe, born and raised, so I was just making a joke. But the joke’s actually on me. You should see how yankees cook… They cook by volume, not by weight!
Everything is in freaking cups and 3/4 of cups. It just doesn’t make any sense!

Poor dude, all he needed was the 3rd response. Not all gamers know hardware, and a lot of them are 1337noobs as we all were at some point or other (albeit I was born with keyboard and mouse in hand :stuck_out_tongue: ) Just give them the info they need if you can and let them be on there way, or at least give them a tech forum link. And I am pretty sure they probably found this forum ON google.

right click your desktop
select PROPERTIES from the pop-up window
in the pop-up window: select the “SETTINGS” tab (this will have information on your card…but we can get more specific)…go to next step
click the “ADVANCED” button
select the “ADAPTER” tab (this tabbed window will tell you what card you have)

Now you can answer this for us…
What card do you have and does your computer use Winxp, ME or 98 ?

you’ll have to be sure what vid card you have, afaik most MSI are nVidia, but you can check here

just go to www.nvidia.com go to the drivers section then download the geforce/TnT drivers for XP and 2000. Uninstall your existing drivers then restart and install the drivers you downloaded. Make sure you uninstall the old ones first. You may need to download and use driver cleaner (google for it) to remove them completely if you still have a problem after you install the new drivers.
