Wolf:ET keeps crashing on me.

What happens is I’ll be playing the game and everything will be fine and then suddenly it crashes to desktop with no error messages or anything. It seems to happen most often right as an explosion is happening but there’s been some times when nothing was happening and the game crashed just like before.

I recall reading something similar to this a long time ago and it was something about a sound issue, but I don’t remember if there was a fix let alone what it would be and I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for in searches.

So anybody know what’s wrong and how I can fix this?

Well last time that happend to me,game crashed without any notice, it was because my CPU was overheating, a cleanup and removing the dust helped in my case.

My computer is relatively new and I highly doubt ET is making my Core i7 overheat, especially considering Crysis at max settings a numerous other games don’t cause me any heat problems at all.

In your case, like you said : it could perhaps come from a Sound Driver problem like you suggested. You need to see the website of the manufacturer or contact their technical services. If it is a custom build computer have a look to the mainboard manufacturer because I suppose that your sound card is integrated on the mainboard.

  • Think too about to update DIRECTX softwares : it help to manage the peripheral interface.
  • Think too about to see for chipset drivers of the mainboard (the chip that manage the multiple peripheral of the mainboard).
