im not too good making them self too :smiley: but i have ideas…

i have problems also… because im a newbie mapper i realy dont get it how to make sky.
i can make them like walls, but then they´r not looking real.
(i know that there are many and much and more topics and tutorials about it but no time to find them

Dunno… whenever i make a house it comes out messed

For a sky, put a big box round your map and caulk it.

Then, select all the faces you would be able to see (Ctrl+Shit+Left mouse+Drag/Click)
And go into textures > skies then put sky_wurzburg on,

complie and have a look @ it
if you dont like it, try it with a different one

Yay mario, that stops me making a pointless topic xD

onu123 add lights (right click - light) then slect intensity…so i believe.

there are also textures that emmit light without adding the entity they can be found in textures/light

BUT im not sure about a large daylight outside map

Most skies give off light, just do a light compile after BSP and VIS.

alrighty… that thing did not work, its shown in radiant, but not in game??? :banghead:

ok it all f**ked uppp when saved it shows some LONG errors and then it crashes and then it cant be loaded again

so how to get bsp to .map again??? because i saved it into bsp just few minutes before
the auto save is f***ed too

Hmmm… It should be possible to make a manual backup and fix the map using a good text editor.

It might yield more results then decompiling…

i already tryied that, it starts showing other errors… :banghead:

i guess im not going to re-make it…

im going to start a new1 i guess, but if some1 finds a solution, i can end that1 too

Right, his world spawn was messed up, somehow he managed to completly remove it from his .map

I added it back in, and its all sorted! :smiley:

but still the lightning doesnot work just yet… and sky is the thing i won get… im still looking around… :moo:
