i would remove that poster of hitler, some countries are not fond of him
and no i’m not bs’ing you, te_frostbite for rtcw had to remove them…
yeah, ill just do that!!! And images are fiting in on my screen, but i know tha they have to be 640x480 in forums!
(and the “Hitle*” did no good in ur country too, but… there are some na**y flags hanging in the front of the house, are they bugging too?)
they don’t bug ME, I’m just saying if you ever release this map… you could bumb into some resistance from server-admins who refuse to run it because of the history behind hitler and the nazi-imagery
Yep, no offense to you personally, but I run a server too with a couple of friends and maps with swastika’s, Hitler posters and such will not be run on ours.
The reason for this is pretty simple: I’m European, and I live in the middle of where Adolf had his sick run in history. Too many familymembers lost in those days and that goes for a lot of Euro players. The game should be fun, not reminiscent of some of the darkest years in history.

i know that people hate hitler and stuff, but he DID exist in World War II and the game is also about it… so im going to remove that picture, but im not too happy about that :disgust:

Totally your choice, but the game IS NOT about Adolf Hitler, it’s about Allies vs Axis and there’s a subtle but oh so important difference, but it’s always your choice as this is mine.

perhaps posting some links to educational sites could help and avoid a lengthy debate about ww2 when realy ET is quite loosely based on ww2 other then looking sorta ww2ish there isnt much else
Keep in mind that Nazi imagery is also illegal in Germany and ET has a lot of german players. You can always make a separete .pk3 file with shader and texture overrides to swap posters out for those who want that extra “realistic” touch. But I see no reason to bother with that.
But you’ve just reminded me to take another look at the propaganda posters I’m using in my own map to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

misc/misc_model-s can be walked through (like a ghost mode) - you have 2 options 1: Check the solid flag, but, if it is a comples model, e.g. lots of sides ect, this will heavily reduce fps…, 2: Put a clip brush round it, this is a brush with a clip texture

Landmines… I dont get it, if i could understand the word: “surfaceparam” (surface=land/ground or something, but param)
and for non clippers ill use clip brush
Param stands for parameter. So the word surfaceparam means that you give that surface a special property, in this case the ability to plant landmines on it.
It’s called surfaceparm not surfaceparam

about the models, clip them with “common/clipweap” or clipweapon or clip_weapon or somthing like that… (its a purple/red see through brush)
if you only use clip it will not stop bulllets etc
