Compiler wll only create vis portals where a structural brush creates one.

You can also use higher block sizes if you still want exterior portals. Default block size is 1024. I think you can get radient to show these blocks on the grid. I know Netradient does.

Also, if you are surrounding your map with a skybox and it has a lot of areas that you can’t get too, I try to fill those areas in with Caulk Brushes so the game doesn’t draw portals in areas that players can’t even go to.

It’s looking great so far Stealth!

I like the new improvements, but i’d make a small suggestion to add few pillars to hold the metal floor.

Because it looks currently like the floor is not being hold up by anything in the middle areas. Hope you understand what I mean. :slight_smile:

ye it was floating in mid air but that is already fixed, I’ll upload some new shots tonight :smiley:

atm just about to go to my last exam so tonight I can finally free the exam vibes and get the creative juices flowing :wink:

please make sure pipes will be double clipped, if they are patches.

so far I have have clipped (once) the pipes that you could walk into or lean against etc… since I know about the bug. But the ones on the ceiling I just left unclipped since players can’t get there?

and the exam went alright.

just finished off the main layout and compiled w/o a big box around it and no leaks so :smiley:
no sorting out the textures and adding some stuff I forgot

well, if u re planning to clip them then i dont mind.

i was asking only cause it’s very common not to be able to get out easily from patches. i have died so many times just because of this stupid bug.

ye i was thinking imagine if u are defending the flag, you back up into a corner and get stuck in a pipe :smiley:

not so nice, so all pipes that could be bothersome are clipped

looks good, but I have to second that the toxic green is to bright, the screenshots look like original gamma, maybe test the map once with gamma 1.7

images attatched with 1.7 gamma, the texture itself is pretty bright, but I don’t really feel it’s disturbing or too bright

of course it doesn’t look dull or realistic but I already stated that :smiley:
Kinda want it to stand out so it has to look weird and outrageous lol

hmm looking at the screens again only the last screenshot is a bit too much, but that was cause I was lookig directly at the goo, which normal players won’t do I guess

EDIT: turned it down 20% Testing it now

Lol first time I actually put some effort into the command map (already few hours working on it now :eek:), what do you think?

EDIT: lol I was worried that the file sizes were getting too big so I gathered all the files I have till now and zipped em up. That crunched em down to 5 MB :smiley: so that’s pretty awesome. (±21mb -> 5mb )
