Windows brightness left after a crash

How do I negate the gamma (?) boost ET gives windows (2K) after the game session has crashed?

I feel like I’m running 98 again rebooting just because a game crashes :disgust:

Ya, its a very annoying bug -_-

I just lowered my gamma down to 1.3 and upped the other brightness altering cvars.

If you need to get your gamma back, just open ET, go into the console and type /r_gamma 1 or 1.3 and exit the game.

That seems to work, but I would need ET to crash again to make it stick

this happens to me a lot

all i do is go back into the game and quit it then the problem goes

their’s probably a highly technical way of getting rid of this problem but being a nOOb(or NooB) i wouldnt know of it

used to happen to me when i played unreal2 and being knew to pc’s i figured me comp was fooked and deleted me whole drive and installed windows again :twak:

I found a solution Display Properties>Settings>Advanced as soon as I click on the color tab it reverts back to normal

But when I start ET its then very dark bumping the gamma down and backup again does the trick and would you believe it windows is over bright again when I exit :blah:

restart the game and exit normally from the main menu works for me.

If you have the new version of Natural Selection for Half Life, it included a cool little exe to reset your gamma back to defaults.

Nice one hell of a download for 256k, but it seems to work perfectly :moo:
