windows 8.1 mouse performance

i don’t know if i’m wrong or if it’s just an feeling but it seems my mouse in windows 8.1, after i upgrade it from 8, is slower them before.

Anyone have experienced this problem or im wrong?

Maybe the settings in the mouse panel has been reset?

I have also Win 8.1 since Saturday here, from 7 it seems fine

i have my mouse speed slower them before, ingame (ET) i was able to do an 360 without any trouble with 3.0 sensitivity ingame and 450 dpi with windows 8, now i cant with windows 8.1.

i dont know what do to fix this.

Here I get the message that I can’t apply that patch, and I checked the installed ones, I don’t have it yet… Strange.

Wel my friend it seems to work now, i have already added the ET.exe to the compatibility before you post it here, and after read the link you post i have did what they wrote in “Fix Other Games via the Registry”.

Now my mouse speed/rate seems like when i was using in windows 8, i dont have 100% sure yet, because i not did any game session yet but i did some tests with mousemovementrecorder and some others mouse checkers programs are showing everything is fine.

In ET my mouse seems to not have slower speed like before. I can do 360º again without any trouble.

Chris (Mateos) if i was you i go connect to our server and test it later mate, the movement is different from win 8 to 8.1 (im not saying its buggy or not).

UPDATE:

EVERYTHING IS WORKING CORRECT NOW, I CAN CONFIRM, FOR THOSE WHO AFTER UPDATE GOT THIS PROBLEM READ THE LINK AILMANKI POST. IF THIS NOT WORK DISABLE HIGH DPI SCALE IN PROPERTIES OF THE GAME EXECUTABLE ALSO ADD EXPLORER.EXE TO THE COMPATIBILITY IF NECESSARY.

Something else which came to my mind, you could try rinput, the source is also available in the meantime
(the download link is a bit hidden in the blogpost itself)

Really forgot about rinput, its a good alternative.

Mateos said it not works for him because the patch Microsft release is already build-in with the last version with windows 8.1, so you can’t apply the patch to the system, the patch is already included.

Im worried now because it seems Microsoft is going to release an big update to windows 8.1 in march 11 who will correct many things in windows and they said will improve mouse/keyboard support for desktops and it will make it more attractive for gamers. I hope it will not will brake mouse speed/polling rates again.
