Win a Signed Brink Mural to Celebrate Brink’s Birthday

Hurray! Brink, Splash Damage’s first-ever multi-platform game was released in the US a year ago today, kicking off the hyperrealistic battle between the Resistance and Security. On this, Brink’s first anniversary, we’d like to extend a huge Thank You to everyone who’s fought to free and/or escape the Ark during these past 12 months.

To celebrate the occasion, we’re signing one of the big huge Brink murals right now to give away right here on the site. For a chance to win it, just reply to this blog entry with the choice you made upon first launching the game (Save the Ark / Escape the Ark) and why you went for that one over the other.

Be sure to post your choice by 11:59 PM GMT on Sunday (13 May), and we’ll randomly select a lucky winner from all of the entries the following Monday. More pictures of the mural below. Good luck!

I chose to save the ark the first time because I wanted to restore what was lost.

I hope i dont take my money to the garbage, thats what i hope, i have brink for a few years, but now my weapon its INVISIBLE, i can shoot, i can do everything, but my weapon just dont show NO MATTER WHAT I DO.

I deleted all the files, used C-cleaner after, rebooted, REDOWNLOADED EVERYTHING, and guess what?
My weapons STILL invisible, and theres absolutely NO WAY TO HAVE THEN BACK.

So, why are you asking us what you should do in a new brink game if you cant even create a game that works in first place?
Why i dont see ANY KIND OF HELP FROM DEV TEAM when people ask this?

Theres also some guys on steam group asking about this but NOBODY HAVE ANY CLUE on how to fix that.

So im here to show my frustation with a stupid BUG that cant be fixed EVEN WHEN U REINSTALL THE GAME.

I hope you guys help me or im gona make a really BAD marketing about this company on Steam and Facebook.

Im waiting for an ANSWER, im tired of bring treated like NO ONE from this big companys that just want your money and spend a weekend in their boats.

IM WAITING HERE DEV TEAM.

Hope NOW i can get an answer…

Thats how i would celebrate brink birthday, having my game working, would be nice.

I chose to save the Ark on my first playthrough.

Taking a storyline approach; all that effort, research, design, construction to create the Ark to try and sustain the lives that it held… why let it be destroyed by malcontents?

From an aesthetic point of view; The Security designs are fantastic and I was drawn to them moreso than the Resistance.

Charging down a vent with an SMG desperately trying to get to a missile launch console that threatens the Founders Tower… adrenaline buzz of the moment.

I chose to Save the Ark, because I am a military veteran and I wanted to try and keep some order. Loved both sides of the story on the Ark. Great job.

I am part of the RiF clan. I’d love to have this mural, but honestly, it should go to Ematic on Xbox Live.

That crazy French bastard still plays the game almost all the time. He loves it. He IS Brink’s #1 fan worldwide.

DarkSolarcrest and I played a few campaign missions last week and it was still a blast. I wish Bethesda didn’t screw you guys, because this game needed just a few more gameplay and online tweaks plus some more DLC maps and it’d be the best FPS on the market.

I wish you guys the best of luck on your next FPS game.

I chose to Escape the Ark because I felt that is what I would actually want to do if I was in that situation.

(TNT4THEBRAIN) #9

For the first time ever played i chose Save the Ark.
I thought it would only make sense getting to know the Ark beforehand and find the meanings and live the circumstances that would justify that there’d be ever a reason to escape it at all, being it’s one of mankind’s last suitable places to live left on earth.

(CheshireCat) #10

I chose to escape the Ark.
This was because me and a friend promised to play through the opposite campaigns first, just for ****s and giggles.

It’d be an honour to win such a beautiful piece of art signed by such wonderful people.

y choosed to Save the Ark because of the awesome suits they had and because the resistance guys are poor and they smell bad. I hope for a brink 2

y really loved the art style of the game and the cool character design please make another oneeeeeeeeeee

The attitude behind escaping the ark is the same attitude that made the ark a necessity. Short-therm thinking and selfish desires render you incapable to see it for more than just a floating piece of concrete to cling on to. It’s much more than that, it’s a roaming symbol of foresight, unison and innovation. In the end it’s all that makes humanity really worthwhile and is therefore worth defending.

we’ll randomly select a lucky winner from all of the entries

I chose to save the Ark because it was a work of Art and had a compelling pitch as to what life should have been like on it.

I was a fan of the Resistance before the game launched and still am, so without hesitation, I chose “Escape the Ark.” Why you ask? Because the the fundamental point or ideology that the Resistance seems to be making, is that fighting will get us nowhere. I know it is an FPS, and the game is based around 2 sides fighting, but I am more referring to the resources and how to best use them. Having a “survival of the fittest” mindset - hording resources and looking out for yourself - in a dire situation like the one taking place on the Ark/planet will get you nowhere, and is doing little more than to postpone the inevitable - which is failure. In an event such as this, cooperation and group effort is the only way survival/success is going to occur. The Resistance seem to understand this, and even after giving the Security multiple opportunists to “see the light,” they (Security) continue to be ignorant to the fact. The Resistance didn’t want it to come to this - Security brought it on themselves.

In addition to the above, there are also other factors that made me side with Resistance - the fact that they believe in a more balanced or Socialist (ooo, socialism) approach to how things operate, and how they seem to actually be fighting for something…noble, (for lack of better word,) whereas the Security/Founders/Natives favor a system that relies more on social stratification, or an ‘Us vs Them’ mentality, and simply want to preserve the cushioned way of life they have become accustomed to, even if it means killing others.

So in a (somewhat) brief post, this is why I chose to Escape the Ark. Choosing to Save the Ark seems futile, since under the practices of the Founders, their will eventually be nothing left to save.
