Daz/Tavington - I am really trying to figure you out. If you hate the people that run the forums then stop going to them. If you hate the people who play et or rtcw then don’t get involved with them personally or stop playing RTCW and ET. You will not change the opinions of these people and you will not change my opinion. I don’t believe in schoolyard insults but it is very hard not to sink to that level. Especially when you are told to leave or are banned from a forum but continue to come back. Personally i would have told the people that pissed me off to “Go Fuck Yourself” and moved on to something else. I would not make a website outlining why i hate somebody or post in a forum stating i why i hate a particular person or forum. That only serves to piss off friends (notice the plural) of the said person or forum. However that is what i would do which is not what you have done.

I have to agree with Wils on this. I also believe you need to get a hobby outside of RTCW and “web design”.

Yeah, but I LIKE RTCW/ET. I enjoy playing it. I want to keep playing it.

So far there’s been 4 people (including myself) I’ve seen this year ‘kicked in the kegs’ by certain groups of individuals. I’m not gonna name names, but one guy has become a ‘poodle’ to certain people who frequent Planet Wolfenstein. I’m sure Grim knows who I mean. Another two guys were forced to walk away from it all and take up other things. Not their first choice, I’m sure. These poor guys have done nothing wrong. Nothing wrong whatsoever except come to a place like this and ask to be given a bit of respect and fair treatment. Because these places are corrupt from top to bottom, they don’t stand a chance. Everyone just bands together and shuts them out.

Now I’ve tried very hard to meet people half way on this issue. The big problem is - you guys don’t want to meet me half way. You’re not prepared to budge an inch. And there’s no way on this planet that I’m gonna move any further than that. So all you’ve done is deepened the division between us. Let me give you an example. I hope some of you are familiar with world politics. What if the Israeli Prime Minister had a meeting with Yasser Arafat and said to him -

‘all your territorial claims are invalid, we have to right to move tanks into any Palestinian area whatsoever, perform indecent and humiliating searches of your people, and basically do whatever we like. In fact, we’re gonna move all your people into a rubbish tip the size of a postage stamp.’

What do you think Mr Arafat would say? He would tell the Israeli Prime Minister to go fuck himself. Exactly. Now I’m not saying that I support the Palestinians over the Israelis here. It’s a very complex issue, I just used the above as an example to demonstrate two parties at loggerheads where one party makes unreasonable demands over the other.

In a situation like we have on these forums, the only possibility of peaceful conclusion is diplomacy and negotiation. Every single time I’ve come to the table to see if we can reach an agreement, it’s always resulted in insults and bans. Why? Because you’re not willing to compromise, and I’m not willing to either walk away empty-handed or become a walking doormat.

What you’ve just asked me to do, Crotalus, is as outrageous as me saying to everyone here - ok, I’ve got a divine right to post on Splash Damage Forums, in fact all of the big forums in the land of Wolfenstein should be my sole playground. I don’t like you or the things you say, so all get lost now and take up stamp collecting, so I can have these places to myself. Would you do that? Would you hell. So why the hell should I? I’ve got just as much right to be here as everyone else.

I personally would like to thank SD. First, they give us a great game for free (ok, ok Activision did), then the game spurs almost as exciting e-drama

I guess these forums are run in the vain of Winston Churchill, who stood firm to his convictions - take SD’s decision or leave it. SD is not going to change their mind (and I don’t think they should). Last time I checked, this was the SD forums… Oh, and as an outsider trying to catch up on this drama…sorry, but you should have walked away empty-handed because it appears you are a doormat on these forums

Please, please can SD release a patch for ET that allows negotiation and diplomacy instead of always fighting… :stuck_out_tongue:

Tavington- I was just giving advice. I can not comment on your various experiences but i can comment on mine. Yes, you will run into childish, arrogant people. Hell it may extend into the whole clan. I find that it is easier for me to distance myself from these people and clans than become a punching bag for them. I am not saying to stop playing ET or RTCW all together. Nor am i saying you should stop posting on forums. However postings like your first post here will get the same results no matter where you post it. This forum, your forum, or even my forum.

That is just my 2 cents.
