I want to know if there is any way possible that this will run with minimum - no lag, doing whatever is possible to make it like that.
800MHZ Pentium III processor
256MB RDRAM
ATI Radeon 9550 AGP (256MB)
Windows 98 Second Edition
Is there a script maker or something that I can use to make this game playable for me (I want to be able to play with up to 32 people on my clan server).
Well, I know that I’m going to get a new computer when I move, so I will buy QW then. As for ET, I want to know if there is a way to eliminate some (maybe all) lag that I may encounter playing on my clan server (which usually has around 32 people in it). For some reason, I get more lag playing ET than I do playing Call of Duty, and changing the video settings in ET doesn’t do anything (I get the same ammount of lag playing with high than with low).
I played W:ET with a Duron 700, 256MB, GeForce2 (32MB) on Win 98 SE for a long time and had stable 46 fps on lowest detail settings. Your system is much better, so you should run ET well.
Well, lag doesn’t have anything to do with how good your hardware is, it’s just how fast your connection is and how laggy the server is. If both are ok, then you won’t have lag, but you still can have low fps.
A bit offtopic, but just remembered how I was plying ET on K6-2 500mhz / 256 SD / GF2 MX440 64mb and it was going pretty good - around 50fps afaik (except Radar, where i had like 7-20fps on field). But i haven’t played on servers larger than 24 players, so my experience could be useless in this case.
Maybe, but not very well… The CPU is under Quake 4 minimum requirements. Spending a $100 on a new CPU would make a world of difference, but then again I’ve never tried to upgrade or replace anything on a notebook.
Actually that notebook is quite decent, it should be able to run QW with fairly good fps. And that cpu is not below Q4 min requirement, according to this Q4 box in my hand, min cpu req is XP2000+, and that Turion should be about the same as A64 3000+.

It isn’t: AMD Turion 64 1.8GHZ = AMD Athlon 64 3000+. It does meet my pre-release recommend system specs. Still these are only based on speculation and Q4 specs.
My recommend rig specs:
AMD K8 Based CPU / P4 3GHz
1GB of Ram
GeForce 6600GT or better
Altough ATi is not as good as NVIDIA in OpenGL, the Mobility Radeon X1600 is as fast as an GeForce Go 7600 which is in my Asus A6T. That card is as good as an 6600GT (slightly better even). So your laptop just meets my recommend spec.
