Will there ever be a fully customizable loadout?

(worthyStew) #1

As the title says.
Some loadouts have good perks but with bad weapons. Others have good weapons with bad perks.
I would really like to see the ability to pick and choose, I guess it would RIP the whole card system. However that is a price I am willing to pay. At least give us the ability to switch weapons on the cards.

more likely they will just add more cards

(enchantedGraph) #3

what about loadouts with good weapons and bad perks?

As you can see, I wrote the post at 2:43 AM. :open_mouth:
And I can’t seem to edit it.

So far Augments (and not perks, we’re not in COD;) ), primary weapons and secondary, are balanced via loadouts. If all becomes customizable, then veterans will get best augments, best primary and secondary and will have a real advantage. Right now no cards are overpowered and its kinda nice to have to make choices over augments, primary secondary, melee.

(worthyStew) #8

That’s not really a good solution IMO. To put bad perks with good guns and vice versa. Just to keep it “balanced”. Rather they make the bad perks good and the bad guns good instead. So people want to play them. In the end guns matters more than perks. Hence why you mainly see good players only using a certain weapon combo for each merc.

I hope It’ll have customizable weapons too. Sights, barrels, accessories, grips, stocks, magazine and enhancements. Really into this game.

(Humbug) #10

this is what you call balance
i think if they would make it fully customizable, everyone would use the same “op” loadout

(B_Montiel) #11

It strongly depends on what you call a good perk. Some weapon related perks are just game changer during fights. For example, used wisely, double time (reload while sprinting) can change issues of fights by positionning yourself in some preposterous places you’re not supposed to be AND ready to fight. And following this, some support perks are totally worth having a worse primary weapon. As sawbonez, some medic perks are available with smg-9 and thus giving them more medic potential than crotzni loadouts. Not to mention fragger who can’t have explodydendron with his k121…

It has already been said a dozen of times. I am also not agreeing with @B.Montiel. Load outs HAVE to get seperated from guns and skins, but they do not need to be customizable in the sake of balance.

Who would ever buy a skin if it is attached to a load out or gun you just don’t want? Right now I don’t care about skins. I just use the card with the right load out and gun. In this way they are not getting my money, because I won’t waste it on cards completely useless to me due to the wrong weapon or load out, doesn’t matter how cool the skin may be.

It’s a major flaw.

(B_Montiel) #13

Following my last example with fragger, I really can’t see how a fragger with both k121 and explodydendron could be balanced with any other main weapon set for him. Hence weapons and loadouts being tied up. As of now, cards forces you to make compromises between your main gun and interesting perks. And that’s a good thing, otherwise it’s cake and eat it, and it generally ends up with optimal loadouts everybody play with like in cod or bf.

(ToonBE) #14

I do understand what you r saying. I don’t think that is a real problem.

The reality is nobody will consider playing fragger with a br16 or an M1A4. That would be not smart as the k121 is the best rifle for fragger.

I could live with loadouts being matched to weapons… But in general that is just too restrictive. You like a gun or you don’t so you’ll just play with the load outs available for the weapon you want.

Main problem is the skins being linked to load outs. That is the biggest flaw of them all.

I prefer frager with the M1A4, I play with that loadout all the time!

Still, I’m willing to pay as much as 2.99$ or 10,000 credits for a custom card I can choose all the weapons, perks, and camos.

Yeah, Fragger with the M4 is a beast. Especially when you get the following augments with it - M93 Standard Rifleman (Sneaky, Focus, Explodydendron). You also get a cricket bat in that setup which is incredibly good in close quarter situations where you run out of ammo.

The LMG is still, even after the nerfs, probably the best choice in guns. But that particular M4 loadout, assuming you have access to a good supply of ammo, is amazing.

(LifeupOmega) #18

People will still gravitate towards the best possible combo in any situation, see the Sawbonez players with Get Up, Potent Packs and Crotzni.

(Amerika) #19

Many still go with Get-up/Extra Supplies because the SMG9 is pretty good and having that spare pack available can be more useful than potent packs due to the speed that normal packs already heal a player. It is debatable though which is what makes this system work. Sawbonez also has the more aggressive loadout that comes with focus/drilled/potent packs which can also be useful if you want to play a more aggressive role (it’s also my pub loadout of choice).

You’re kidding right? Buying an existing Bronze loadout as-is (no customization, you just get to pick the card without RNG headaches) will cost you $3.50 or 17500 credits, why would they give you full-customization for less…
