For good sake dont buy a GeForce FX 5200!
Radeon 9200 is in the same price class and better.
Save for a while and you could buy a Radeon 9600 and thats like 10x better then 5200…

Yes, read up on the naming conventions first. The 5200 is Nvidia’s new marketing speil for MX. It’s a crappy cut down version of the better cards. If you want an FX, buy an ultra version. But as already said, ATI cards are currently ruling the roost with superior DX9 support. Although that makes no difference for RTCW/ET, almost all games coming out are using DX9 shaders for snazzy efects.

Well, on my downstairs machine my FX5200 runs ET like a goddamn dream BUT as I have upgraded my upstairs box the GF4 Ti4600 128MB is going downstairs tomorrow.
If you want a DAMN fine card at GREAT price that will do HL2 and DOOM 3 do this one :
I used to be Nvidia all the way but hell not after the reports of how bad they are doing with regard the two games mentioned above. If you don’t have the cash right now man, wait a while and save up, I REALLY recommend it.
