Will Enemy Territory: Quake Wars have Experience Points (XP)

(kamikazee) #61

I think Flesh was talking in general, or more how you could do it in BF2.

It’s not really about how you get XP, but what the XP gives you in return. If the rewards are limited and easy to get then there’s no great problem. It could help identify newbies from players who understand how to play the game. Any more reward than that and you will end up with stat whores who just use lame tactics like:

Joining the easy team. You can always tell this by the map and/or players
Repeatedly spamming the same task over and over again.
Camping spawn points/easy defendable places that serve no purpose but to rack up your kills or annoy the enemy.

If anyone new to ET wants a summary of how the ET XP system works and for what activities you earn XP:

(ayatollah) #65

What makes you think there are people that have never played ET?

(Ifurita) #66

Rest bonus?

(digibob) #67

WoW related joke.

(Ifurita) #68

WoW?

World Of Warcraft

I only played that game for 2 months until I quit because I’m immune to WoW addiction.

Do you know how I’m already immune? You can’t be addicted to a game if you are already addicted to another game.

That addiction would be Doom, quake, wolfenstein, John carmack, id software, id software affiliates like nerve, raven, and SD, and some other stuff that fall in this category = fanboy, although I don’t curse other game companies and I do play some other games, not as much as I play my collection of id software games.

I’ve finished doom 1, not ultimate, in UV, and beat EP3 in nightmare so many times that I lost count whereas normal people only finished the game once or twice.

UV? EP3?

(signofzeta) #71

those were the many times I played normally. Now double that number and add it to the previous number. That doubled number is the number of times I finished Doom 1 with god mode on.

(MuffinMan) #72

add the curent time in in milliseconds, multiply by 3, subtract the number of hairs you have and divide by zero - voila! the date of armageddon! (but please don’t spread panic now that you know…)

sorry I just had to

(DerSaidin) #73

Jeez, that would have been tricky.
