If you don’t use the cover system (at least on hard) that is a likely scenario in DE. However you just use cover, pop out, head shot, and go back in. Plus with the silencer you can just down enemies without alerting everyone.
Will Bethesda Throw Us More Cash? (Can we get something new to discuss?)
Rage has a co-op mode called" Legends of the Wasteland." It is a separate mode from the single player campaign.

Deus Ex can be about stealth - it can be all about stealth, but it doesn’t have to be. If you want to go in guns blazing you can.

j/k
Just so you know though, you still will need to seek cover in your gunfights…
I can handle that.
I think in all honestly it depends.
First off, they have to keep their people working. So if we are proven to stay (You know, we all are still playing a year later) then there is a possibility that they will start to give us DLCs because they know we will buy them. (Low risk, low reward, a good place to put armatures.) and also, SD may be abandoned by Bethesda by the name that Brink gave them, and they have to eat so they could make a DLC very quickly to get a small amount of cash, and then work on their next game. So I’m guessing we’ll get ONE more DLC sooner or later. The Brink community seems to have gone from on life support to GROWING. I tried to join one of my friend’s games and was like “There’s a full lobby? Really?” And then I joined a full lobby. I seriously was going mad for a moment. For the sake of Brink, this hopefully continues.
I sort of am learning to hate publishers more and more. They misguide games and take all the money it seems. I’m pretty sure they made Brink a little more like CoD just to ensure sales when the thing was obvious- Even the CoD players want a game that has a higher skill cap (Brink seemed better earlier in the development…) CoD was fun while it was there, but people just want to move on. CoD really was an entry for non-gamers to get into gaming. But now that they are here, they demand a higher skill cap JUST like the rest of us on the forum. Even on the trailers to the game people are saying “Wasted money Third time.”
Well talk around the forums is that SD can’t afford to make any more DLC in the way of new maps but what about more clothing/weapons/attachment packs like the POC? I’m sure they can muster up four more unique archetypes before abandoning the Ark…
And on the topic of other games… My next game is Dead Island. I am a huge zombie survival horror fan and have been sore for a long time that Playstation has neglected to have a decent first person zombie game on their platform, until now. My friend is testing out Deux for me. We used to play the original on PC since that version had MP. But the new one just seems like a futuristic Assassins Creed to me, IDK. Rage has potential but like Deux, I will wait for reviews. The only other game I know is a sure thing is BF3… I just hope I can still afford internet by then. Damn, if only Dice would make an offline mode separate from campaign where we can play the MP maps against bots like in KZ or Brink I would be completely sold.
Having played the original DE when I was much younger and having played a lot of AC they are not even close to the same. AC has much more open world gameplay/free roaming. The stealth option with no guns blazing seemed to be a big part of the original DE if I remember correctly. Or at least you had the option to play that way and in that respect the new game is the same sans boss fights where you have to fight it out. As I mentioned earlier, in my first run through on hard I’m just trying to complete the game so stealth can suck it. I’m just using cover and headshotting everyone from behind it with a silenced 10mm pistol. DE:HR is much closer to the original DE than it is to AC. Of course I’ve got to put the original on top, but DE:HR is no Duke Nukem Forever. Oh yeah and the reviews are already in. On metacritic it scores an 89 across all platforms. Not too shabby.
*Sorry to further de-rail the thread, but I think we all know we’re most likely not getting anything besides weapon tweaks. No outfits, no maps, etc. It would be awesome if we were, but I’m not waiting.

That’s alright, Neph. You ARE probably right.
But I’m sorta hoping for a glimmer of gossip before I give my full attention to GoW3. I don’t want to give up on playing Brink, but with all these other exciting titles coming up, there’s not much incentive to keep interested. 1 map pack with only 2 maps is really not just reward for the loyal. I love this game, but the lack of progression and the knowledge of that SD/Bethesda have nothing else to give but weapon tweaks is kind of stale now.
At least I know that there are multitudes of things to keep me going in Epic’s latest, and that’s not including the progression system!
To the SD guys: I seriously hope you can come across a good publisher or fund yourselves for a Brink 2! You can count me in on a purchase, but please keep your community interested!

Brink is taylor made for it with the different factions and classes. Something like this needs to be done for Brink. I can live with the weapons right now as is, I’d rather have some in-game progression and badges to shoot for.

Unfortunately (or fortunately if they fund it), Bethesda owns the Brink franchise. So, if SD wants to make a Brink 2 without Beth’s blessing, they’re gonna have to call it “Parkour Tapir Gun Battle” or something.
Also, I am sure SD would LOVE to keep pumping out content for Brink, but, once again, if we don’t get anything, blame Beth, not SD. Also, you can partially blame the masses of asses for not appreciating a game like Brink.
I think we just need to kidnap a couple of Bethesda Executives’ kids and hold them for DLC ransom.

He’s kidding!
DO NOT DO THIS!
Not only is it unlikely to result in any more DLC (contracts signed under duress are not valid contracts and they’ll just take their money back) but you’re also likely to end up in federal “pound you in the 455” prison.
You’re better off hitting the media with a petition, something along the lines of “We won’t buy Skyrim or Rage until we get more Brink maps!!!” (note: 3 exclamation marks. It shows you’re serious).

Uh, I am totally serious.

Hardly the masses fault for a mis-marketed game with serious launch problems and some fairly serious design faults.
Brink’s situation isn’t down to just the publisher or just the audience, it’s a whole combinations of factors that also include SD themselves

I’m sorry but I’m speaking the truth and I can give you countless examples.
A guy I never played with last night said this about Brink to me, and I kid you not: “Brink blends all the best elements of other games into one game!”
I was like, that’s what you think?
He said: Yup.
Another guy a few days ago said to me: “Brink is a diamond in the rough. It has glitches but is still a gem.”
I think it needs some more stuff because there’re folks out there who still are digging it.

I was not referring to the relatively small group of players who actually own Brink and complain/comment about the many bugs/issues with the game. I’m referring to the LARGE group of players that would rather be death-matching it up on CoD or pwning newbs with Helis on BFBC2.
Out of the 10 or so friends I introduced to Brink, only 4 liked it. Most of the others said they either preferred the run-n-gunning TDM headshots of CoD or they missed the vehicles and wide-open sniping of BFBC2.
I admit that Brink has some obvious flaws on Xbox360 (I don’t play on PC, where there are even more complaints since the game isn’t ETQW2), but the good outweighs the bad for me in Brink.
