Dreiss is a good all around weapon for red eye in my opinion.
Why would we ever use the m14 over the pdp?
Is it better than Dreiss in any way? Feels like Dreiss and M14 are pretty much equally effective med-long range, BUT you can actually use Dreiss in CQB aswell.
The biggest problem I have right now with the SR is to get a grip on its hipfire style. ROF is already bad, if you actually want to hit something else than lamp posts, you’re almost forced to double it manually. At this exception, I quite like the weapon. I’m not so annoyed by its ads, in cqc I feel this is still more usable than the PDP. Don’t forget that adsing the PDP just make you totally blind on 90% of your surroundings.
The amount of kick it has is rather absurd. It feels like Redeye is so physically weak he can’t control the recoil of the gun. Hope it’s something they adjust down a bit.

Age has gotten to him.
I use to love this weapon back in the day when it had much higher rate of fire (sort of like dreiss now) and little lower damage. Basically it worked like auto-shotgun in CQ.
At the moment you have to rely on ADS more, but getting one headshot in, and spamming body shots works wonders too
Honestly, they can’t reduce the recoil, if you put the same recoil than Dreiss even with the lower firerate this weapon will be op as fuck.
The hip fire is fine now, you have 2 accurate bullet if you miss you have to iron sight.

They CAN lower the recoil without it being another dreiss. Right now it has arguably the highest recoil in the game, even counting Vas’ snipers. It deserves a SLIGHT reduction imo.
Just chipping in to say I played with the M14 all last night and I agree, it’s RoF is far too low and the recoil is far too high.
Playing mid range snipe through smoke and the sights barely recover before the target has already moved on. Hip fire is weak too and the only loadout with M14 + Kukri has a weak pistol.
Basically everything unique to Redeye is gimped (read pre nerfed) when put together, which is a shame as I like the marksmans rifles normally in FPS games.
I’m loving the Grandeur. It works at short range, but you have to land your shots early on. At range, turn on the goggles, aim for white. Center of mass and down they go.
For me it’s a novelty / challenge gun. I doubt this merc will see much use in proper competitive anyway. This is clearly a money making merc of pub players as Phantom is.

It’s the highest recoil in game because the damage is huge and you can hip fire, you can kill most mercs in 2 or 3 bullets, if the recoil was not that high this weapon would be broken.
rofl. Seriously? “Money making merc.” Please, do go on. Elaborate and explain your point of view, I’ve just got to hear this.

Brb, hopping on Vas and proving your entire thesis wrong one headshot at a time with guns that have almost half his recoil.
Heh. Smoke grenade is a thing that has been lusted for ever since they took Red Eye out in the closed beta phase because it’s an absolute game changer in competitive.
Still stronger weapons, still a lot less recoil and even though you can’t hipfire him, he also has arguably the best back up weapon(s) in the game. Besides, a recoil reduction wouldn’t even effect his hipfire, just his ADS and I only want a slight reduction so I don’t aim up at the sky damn near every trigger pull.
I agree it should have a decent amount of kick but not the stupidly high amount it currently has. The bloom for hipfire is perfectly fine. I can hipfire it comfortably after a few hours with it as well, it just takes practice. Honestly, now that I am used to the gun and figured out how to shoot it I never would use the dries again. just feels weak by comparison but really, once you know how to use it, it becomes the whole “Driess vs burst fire rifle” argument.
There both really good so it comes down do you want the slow, steady but hard hitting option or the faster but weaker option? I personally preffer the slower option because I enjoy one to two shooting mercs, even if I have to work harder than I should have to, to do so.
Also, side note: the iron sights for the are about an 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch too high it seems. I have to aim down a decent bit to get on target and that should really, really be fixed ASAP. I also think this would be cause for a lot of the problems people seem to be having with staying on target with the weapon. Biggest tip to offer: Learn to slow yourself down.
Yes the gun has a low RoF but realize you only need 2 or 3 bullets. Take your time and aim and shoot when you are over the target. If you’re in a CQC battle, same thing. If you manage to get a headshot, switch to your pistol to finish them off because they’ll be at roughly 30-20 hp if not lower or dead. other wise just try to squeeze those body shots while you dance. You learn fast you don’t NEED to have a fast RoF with this gun. A lot of issues I see was the same issue I was having and that is a pacing issue of how we play…this gun demands a different play style all together.
That said, it still has issues…as I’ve pointed out. It needs SLIGHT (by slight I mean 5% realms) adjustments but overall it’s a really good gun. It just requires an entirely different mindset to use.
