Why this game is failing.

(KorpKyuuSama) #1

I have 600+ hours in this game so trust me, i know what i’m talking about.

This game is getting worst by the second. Don’t get me wrong, i love playing DB, but this is ridiculous.

I don’t mind the devs listening to new players instead of the old ones when doing game decisions, i don’t mind the problems with the servers, i don’t even care that after every patch, old bug get ignored and new ones appear.

It’s a very solid Beta… but it is still a beta.

What i don’t understand, is the total lack of effort in dealing with hackers. I did 5 competitive games today, found 3 hackers. And yes, i can tell the difference between an hacks and a good player. well is quit easy to find this hackers.

And the problem is, you can’t really blame ppl for hacking.

Right now DB allows hacking. That’s the true. The anticheat sucks and it’s very hard to report someone.

How many games failed because hackers run wild and ppl stop playing the game?

This game have potential we all know that. But ignoring obvious problems is not the way.

I gotta agree, Nexon is doing a catastrophically horrible job with their totally useless anti player xignpoop

(Jostabeere) #3

First I thought: “Oh boy, this thread again”, but you’re right.

(Conqelson) #4

The hacking isn’t a bad problem yet, honestly, but now is the time to nip it in the bud because it will be soon.

(CCP115) #5

Unfortunately, they decided to use the Unreal Engine to build their game on.

Also I haven’t had any problems with hackers at all, so I’ gonna assume it’s as terrible as you all state it is. Sometimes I die in two shots, and it’s hard to tell if it was a hacker or someone that was really good.

(RuleofBooKz) #6

the actual hackers suck. Are they the real issue tho?

Id point to the damage that suspicion bred by hackers sows amongst the community. hackers bring with them this suspicion of others. Suspicion of those better than yourself. Skill suddenly seems bought. To me this is doing far far more damage to the game - but more to the people that play the game.

Keep in mind that the game IS the people, the community.

When you have unchecked hackers Suddenly that player that got that great shot on you becomes sinister. Your worrying about who “is or isn’t” that before you notice it your not enjoying the game or having fun and you cant have good relationships with others in the game.

needs addressin dont it

In game reporting is coming. Changes with AC is coming. DB is still in Open Beta and they are still trying to put features in. The sky isn’t falling.

(KorpKyuuSama) #8

I understand what you are saying, ppl call me hacker in pubs all the time, i wonder how many reports i got tho

Instakill is part of the game, sometimes i die and i don’t have a clue about what happen. No info, no kill feed, nothing.

But if you have ennuf experience you can tell that taking constant headshots as soon you take a corner form the same player is suspicious (sprint and stop right before the corner and they will start shooting, easy give way) or my favorite, a player that can’t kill you no matter what, he disconnect and when we reconnects he became this god like pro that never misses a shot.

(Zuty) #9

I agree with the OP. I’ve only knowingly been in a match with a cracker (the correct term) once or twice, but they hang around for subsequent matches and if you aren’t on their team why even bother?

(Nail) #10

I’m less concerned with the hackers than xignpoop banning legit software users

(Dirmagnos) #11

First of all ppl, stop calling those morons “hackers”. Its the same as calling idiot with a gun a sharpshooter. They are simple cheaters and comparing them to actual hackers would be an insult to the latter(like comparing rat to a lion).
Most of those imbeciles wouldnt know what disassembler is(or decompiler, or anything related to hacking on that matter), not to mention what to do with it. And even a monkey can run an executable or injector(or edit a text file).
And second, cheaters are inevitability in modern games. Just 2 many losers out there, who think that using exploits or hacks or macroses actually makes them better.
Question is mainly in prevention and response. Eg clearly defined rules, easy and understandable reporting mechanics, fast response times and harsh punishments. And good antihack wouldnt hurt either.
And none of those are implemented in game on any satisfactory level.

(Yes) #12

Definitions change if enough people use the word a certain way, hacker now includes cheater in its definition.

(Nail) #13

agreed these people are best called script kiddies not hackers, but average Phil (Joe is an idiot) understands hackers = cheaters, an ingame report system is a must even if it just appears to work

(Dirmagnos) #14

If enough people call a dog a duck, it dosnt turn that partucular dog into a duck.
It just shows that ignorance can be contagious. Altho there is nothing realyl new about that, history has plenty of examples of it.
Hacker never were and probably never will be a synonym for a cheater. Confusion is mostly explained by ignorance and cheating lamers attempts to make themselfs feel better about their lack of skill(why else would one resolve to cheating otherwise) by placing themselfs(at least in terms) on the same level with professionals.
As ability to make a sandwitch doesnt make one a chef, in the same way ability to run a hack dosnt change a loser into a hacker.
Ironically enough, its hackers who benefit from those losers, by either selling them VIP hacks or giving away for free(altho in both cases those hacks are generally riddled with trojans).

It is a term since the beginning of online gaming. People who used hacks were called hacker even back in the days in Counter-strike, Quake, Runescape and so on.

(Ghosthree3) #16

They aren’t hackers, they use hacks. Easy to see the confusion.

Derailing the thread, why…?

Who cares what people calls them, in the end, we all want them gone.

(Ghosthree3) #18

I’m not sure what else there is to add to the thread tbh. OP isn’t wrong. Something does need to be done about the cheaters. Though I fear that no matter what they do people are still going to be able to cheat. I hope that they don’t put too much time into a system that doesn’t work.

Right now I’d be happy with an in-game report function.

(Bu5hmast3r) #19

they dont care anyway. They even protect blatant cheaters.

Nexon learned it on APB Reloaded. But the don’t learned it well.

No one will buy your fancy things until the cheaters are gone. protect your Games and then money can flow again. At this state its pathetic in every way. Spending money to being rect by Aj/AAA Subscribers.

No way.

Again, those who didnt know called every1 hackers. Those who did, called those losers what they are - “cheaters”.
And in “beginning” of online gaming a proper term were used more often. Practice of calling every1 hackers came up later, with onslaught of casualism and ignorance.
And since is term is used extremely losely in gaming community, as well as wrongly, many people feel more comfortable with it, including cheating losers, for alredy stated reasons.
