Agree completely. Way too much hacking. Way too obvious. And the amount in comp too, so lame.
Why this game is failing.
I actually haven’t seen too many hackers to ruin my overall experience. But I guess since I’m still only 70 hours in I haven’t had enough experience. It does sound like this game will be another Brink though. As much as I don’t want it to.
i got 300h now. i can count the cheaters i played against on one hand.
i dont play much comp mode though as it makes you go against the same clueless players as normal or min lvl 10 servers.
i think i have never seen as many bad players in my 15y fps career as in DB, not even in cs. at least there most players manage walking.
The cheating is getting more rampant. My main concern is the aimbots. There was even one cheater who explicitly said he had one account for his aimbotting and one legit account. Please don’t have this game turn into a joke for cheaters.
You should try playing an Aussie server.
A complete waste of time.
My friends and I play Asian servers to avoid the cheats.

And the problem is, you can’t really blame ppl for hacking.

You lost all credibility.

dude, if you don’t get punish because you did something wrong and no one care that you doing something abusive with their product, how can you blame this persons??
Btw, i find so many hackers/cheaters that this one time, this 2 dudes in opposite teams, both aimboting, both flaming each other with the argument about who got the better cheat.
i was like… **** this game…
I cant play comp. It´s so stupid. You enter in the lobby and ppl are like:
_Pls dont hack
_gg player name is cheating.
_im not playing this game
Takes forever to get in a game with all the lost connections and 4v6 ans 3v7 bugs, and then ppl leave because of a know cheater.
Or you play pubs or execution, but just that is not appealing enough.

That is the most assbackwards cop out logic that is from someone obviously without a firm grasp on ethics and a sense of reasonable responsible behavior.
The word u are using is “wrong”. If u are aware its wrong, and A wrong thing to be doing, then that should be the only guidance - your own mind - to do the right thing.
DO you only not do wrong because you fear punishment? Really?
Take some personal responsibility and try to be a little more mature
its a nexon game. their policy against bots and hacks and exploits, at least in north america, has been one of blissful ignorance. Just look at the korean malware they have us running as “anticheat”, the same software that has been known to install botnet software onto peoples computers, and can be hijacked to scan things like your internet cache including cookies and passwords and phone it home.
The standard nexon MO for games is awesome start, followed by a gradual decline from mediocrity into sadness. I would absolutely love to be proven wrong and a liar by future events, because that would only mean good things for yet another nexon game I have hopelessly taken quite a liking to.
I honestly have 110+ hours so far and have only encountered one possible hacker. Unless he’s “Optic Nadeshot” or some other fancy-ness like that. This one player was in a game with me on the map Terminal, he was a Vassili (which there’s usually at least 1 per team on that map) now at first he seemed normal getting a few kills every minute, then all of a sudden after the first objective he started getting headshots every second. No matter where you were, no matter the corner you turned, as soon as you were in his line of sight, your head was gone within milliseconds. I have played enough competitive games (1200+ hours in CS:GO as well) to know that not aiming a sniper rifle from a distance and within milliseconds of turning a corner he both aims, gets perfectly on your head, and fires (multiple times within rapid succession) getting all headshots is almost impossible considering the average person’s reaction time and the milliseconds it takes for hardware and internet to react itself. This player at the end of the game had his 40 kills and yet remained under 10 deaths. He carried his team the whole time. I thought I was seeing God for the first time. (And to make matters even more funny, I’m agnostic
)
I can agree with the thread as a whole but I however stand on firm disagreement of the idea that this game is by any means “Failing”.
i encountered two or three in the span of 5 games after about 2-3 weeks of not playing. one of them was even so brazenly named “giturhaxhere:^)” and was zooming around the map as fragger throwing unlimited grenades and getting nothing but headshots with pistol. Two were snipers who advertised sites to aquire hacks after topping the scoreboard at something like 60-0. I had never encountered one before my 2-3 week break so it has definitely gotten worse to the point where I am encountering it on a regular basis.
I miss the days of player run dedicated servers.
@RadicalMac Not saying that guy wasn’t cheating but 40 and 10 for a vasilli isn’t anything special really. Most competitive players that main vasilli will get those kind of scores in actual scrims and matches against good players.
I have about 150 hours and I’ve probably only seen 2 cheaters in pubs. The problem is matchmaking seems to be full of cheaters. We played a couple games today with a cheater on our team and a cheater on the other team. It was like a battle between who had the less brain dead player with the aimbot.

To be honest I don’t think he had any sort of aim-assist, considering he died at all really. I just believe has a third-party vision-assist (or “walls” for short) He knew where a player would be and when they would be there. You’d have to have been in the match.
I have encountered three hackers in my whole time playing:
First guy was just aimbotting. Kicked him and it worked.
Second guy was aimbotting, Fire rate hacking, and damage hacking. Basically just clicked and got a team wipe. Got kicked immediately.
Third guy, the funniest, played Rhino, and accidentally left his wall shooting on. i got shot through the wall, said into chat
“Funny, didn’t know Rhino could shoot through walls.”
The other guy then said “Whoops, forgot to turn them off.”
He actually turned them off, and we didn’t have to kick him. What a great guy that was also kind of an asshole for having cheats in the first place.
sniping takes no skill atm . the anti lag compensation means if u shoot near a head its a HS - this can look like hacks but its just how badly the game is optimized so that ppl with 300 pings can play with no real noticeable lag (on paper)
also the no fixed sens for scope and i cant recall but there were a few extra things not including the free wall hack that is the sensor
I don’t think it’s lag compensation, I think it’s just the headshot hitboxes are bigger than the actual enemy heads. Either way it’s not that uncommon to clearly see yourself miss and then still get a headshot especially on players that are running.
Hackers are always going to be a problem in a F2P shooter. There is no deterrent at all, because even if the anti-cheat software is amazing at detecting and banning hackers in a short space of time, they can simply create a new account and start again. Many of them even brag about it when people threaten to report them.
And even worse, is that legit players have little means to counter them in DB, because in competitive mode you are penalised for leaving, which is usually the best way to counter a hacker (they get bored with no one to troll).
For those of you who like this type of payment model, think about that the next time a FPS comes out that you really enjoy, and argue for a B2P with microtransactions payment model instead (I’m hoping Overwatch takes this approach, F2P would be awful). At least then if someone hacks and is banned they have to buy the game again if they want to continue trolling.
I’ve seen more hackers in CS:GO than Dirty Bomb so far.
I can’t seem but to dismiss some of these hackusations I keep hearing about based on my own personal experience of 250+ hours. A lot of things in this game “feel” like hacks when going up against a good player. Just like a lot of things in CS:GO “feel” like hacks when people are not experienced enough to know better.
Then again, I tend to stay away from Competitive mode. Although, the 20 games I played in Comp felt fine to me. Only had one game that was a stomp. But I knew the guys were good, since I’ve seen them before on Dirty Cups. Then we re-queued and drew on the next map against them.
