I rather pay around 20 euros for the full game then the “F2P” way it is now.
Why the bad type of F2P model?
I don’t think the F2P model is that bad, it just needs to be supplemented properly. The prices would be fine if it was easier to earn credits. That has already been address by @MissMurder . If you add cosmetics to the current system and reduced the price of cases it would be much better.
The credit sink that is Loadouts is way too strong for the current value of mercs. You can’t earn mercs AND loadouts effectively right now, only one or the other. It is fairly obvious that buying cases is not worth it at all compared to the price of mercs. 50 Cases shouldn’t equal 1 merc.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
There is no full game, unless you want the devs to stop working on it after a few months and move on to the next project. I wish people would be more conscious of this rather essential distinction.
I’ll be very surprised if I’ll ever pay as much for Dirty Bomb as if I’d have to pay for example to stay up to date with a franchise like Call of Duty. But only time will tell.
he’s absolutely correct, as long as they add new maps and mercs the game is never finished, ie: no full game

First time playing a beta game, I suppose?
Yeah the mercs seem overpriced (I mean the euro price). I know they are probably requiring quite some work to produce, but I mean 4-5 mercs are equivalent to a full price game, and there are many nice games out there…
And a merc has about 2 skills (so that limits the amount of gameplay you unlock), and you still then have to farm the loadouts.
As for the game being never “full”, that depends. I could consider a game full with a decent starting roster of mercs and maps, and the extras to be seen as “paid dlc” / addons, kind of.

Except all of that “paid dlc” can be earned with enough effort(30 days of daily missions = 1 50k credit merc, not including base fee or bonuses).
and what people seem to forget is the free rotation.
You will have access to all of the game’s contents, just not all at once; even if you don’t want to grind/pay.
Come for a few days every few weeks, and you will still get to play with all the mercs.
My 5c: neither this game, nor LoL, are P2W.
In LoL the only things you can spend cash-money on are cosmetic; skins and so on. I mean you can buy extra rune pages but you can still only use the runes you have, and they can only be bought with in-game cash.
And this game isn’t P2W either.
The devs actually broke this down in an interview I read a while back. A player who dumps all the money into the game will have all the mercs and a great loadout and skin for all of them.
A player who doesn’t spend a cent of real-world money will have, after a bit of playing, a few mercs and a great loadout on each of them.
The big spender will look better, because of the skins, and they’ll have more variety in their mercs, but they won’t be more POWERFUL.
In a fair fight between the two players the better player will win.
You can argue that the big spender will have better loadouts earlier on but that’s really splitting hairs.
"Pay to Win’ means that you can buy a significant tactical advantage that can overcome an opponent’s skill.
This game is not that.

You are just thinking from a casual gamer POV. Right now I have to grind creditz like crazy for months and still continue to grind when new mercs come just to START playing this game competitive.
You cant play competitive by just having a few mercs, what if one merc that before was considered underpowerd got a huge buff and I and no one of my team mates own it? Then we’re getting fucked over the system and not by being outplayed by our opponents just because they have a new/buffed super good merc.
This business model dosent support competitive play at all. There needs to be an additional business model for the hardcore players.

It is perfectly fine for comp. Comp seriously will take dedication, which means time. Each month you can earn one 50k merc easily. If your role is to frag for your team you can earn those mercs relatively soon. Likewise for other mercs if you know your role.
If you can’t spare 10$ now and then for a merc, maybe reconsider your priorities?
You don’t need every merc to play comp. You can only bring 3 with you anyways. And if a merc got a recent buff but you have not played them much, should you really bring them into a comp game?

Nice return argument. Care to actually make a point? It feels like you don’t have one and just want things cheap or for free. That isn’t how a business works.

I think I have paid more money to developers than you will ever do to all the games I play. I however are NOT going to PAY FOR POWER. I dont think its ethical and seriously not something for a competitive game no matter how much “business” it is
Wow, you got hostile fast. And try not to make assumptions, btw, you don’t know a damn thing about me.
Nobody is telling you that you have to pay for mercs. That is up to you. You can always wait to earn them.
With the addition of all the added microtransactions which the community will buy can you PLEASE consider making the mercs free
First reason is that gameplay should not come at a cost for a competitive aimed game
Second reason is that free merc rotation causes AWFUL gameplay balance issues and simply makes matches not enjoyable when everyone is playing the same merc
With the recent update, obtaining new mercs should be a lot easier now. As a very casual player, it’s nice to be able to get 500-750 credits after running an Objective and Stopwatch game. Also, in terms of merc, there was nothing about paying for power, @puceSandwich .
Each merc are suppose to have their own pros and cons, and certain mercs would perform better in certain scenarios. If SD wants to support competitive play, these mercs should be already balanced enough for it to be playable, and I have to say that the game feels fine atm (though, too soon to say about Rhino and Kira).

You think that wont happen anyway? Once the cashflow dries up, the devs will abandon the game as it wont be profitable to continue pushing content.
This model has been used before with a lot of F2P games, and most of them were dropped by the devs within the first year due to small and shrinking player bases.
The quick cash grab model isn’t designed for increasing the longevity of a game, and this isn’t the kind of game that will have mass appeal anyway as the skill floor is too high for the average low skill casual player.
