why is there no EAX in ET?

I wonder why there is no EAX in ET? Nearly every other modern shooter has EAX now, why not ET? If I play Raven Shield with EAX Advanced HD it sounds totally different than without it. EAX would add a lot to ET.

Read this before!

I know through Radiant you can add ambient 3d sounds I think :o clicked something once and let me place sound @ 4 different angles and stuff… not exactly proper EAX but supported. ET doesnt properly support it because its of a 3/4? year old engine.
