First off, I know a topic like this could start a lot of flame, so please keep it somewhat mature.
What is it about this game, that makes people not want to kick people, who flat out need to be kicked? Be it someone who’s been afk for a very long time, someone who’s clearly cheating, someone who’s walking around in the back of the map, boosting support exp by dropping ammo or something(because they think that’s faster than giving ammo to teammates) or any action the warrants being kicked from the lobby?
Why does the Dirty Bomb community enjoy playing a team based FPS, with a handicap?
Now that we finally have a vote-to-kick system that works without 100% yes votes, it seems to get just as much use as before, when you actually needs every single person on the team to vote yes, to kick someone.
I played a game today with someone on the other team who was 100% cheating, even took the time to spectate them, rather than just type in chat that someone was cheating, after they went on a nice killing spree. The guy was playing Fragger, using the burst BR-16, getting only headshots, tracking people through walls, and pulling 180° turns to kill people who would come into view, behind him. Even people on his team were saying he was cheating, but of course, he doesn’t get kicked, since that one person on their team wants a free win. Next game comes, and the same people who were saying to kick him, were the same people voting no, since he was on their team now.
I’d say I play at least one game every two hours, where we have someone on our team who’s been afk for a very, very long time, and people still vote no on kicking them. We all have to go afk sometimes for what ever reason, but if you’re gone from the game for a very long time, but staying active so you don’t get auto kicked, you deserve to get kicked from that lobby. If you’re playing with someone, and they go afk, and you’re the one voting no to keep them, since its your friend, you’d honestly be better off kicking them, and then leaving when they’re back, so you two can party back up.
This has never been the case on any other PvP FPS game I’ve played. It has nothing to do with the community of those games being older, or more harsh, or anything. If someone needed to be kicked from the lobby, they got kicked from the lobby. If one person was acting like a child and was wanting to kick someone for no reason, they didn’t get kicked. People played for fun, and also played to win. But having someone on your team who’s cheating, afk, walking around looking at brick walls, isn’t fun, and doesn’t help you win. Even if Dirty Bomb has wonderful brick walls, and you all should give them a look sometime.
What’s your thoughts? What’s your reasoning for voting no, when any of these options come up? Do you think the vote-to-kick needs to be changed again, so something like 50% yes is needed, rather than the 60%-70%(I forget the exact percentage that is needed, after the changes to the vote-to-kick system) it is right now?
