I like him because he’s a decent alternative to Fragger, (Fragger is still superior, but people prefer to rage on Phantom, but whatever)

I saw a post about “loving” this broken piece of trash and somehow I knew it would be a post by someone who plays him.

If phantom remains in the game I will be uninstalling.

Why do I care if I get suspended from the forums of a game that has mercs like phantom in it?

What’s the main reason people who enjoy phantom find him fun? Based on what I’m reading, because he makes other players angry, and hard counters mercs based on character perks rather than player skill.

Fun is not a zero sum system in which one person must be having none in order for another player to enjoy themself. It is possible for both the losing team and the winning team to enjoy themselves, if the match is close, and fair, and if the losing team can respect the skill of the winning team.

Phantom does none of this. He changes core elements of gameplay. He doesn’t require skill, or aim, or good reflexes. He eats high damage, long cooldown abilities for free and gets no punishment for it at all, while also having access to weapons that are widely considered the best in the game.

It has a 5 second cooldown and breaks when he attacks. And since when were SMGs considered the “best in the game”?

So let me get this straight… You flag our comments for abuse, because you think we are being abusive to you? Because we dont automatically hate the new merc that has only been out for a day? We never said a single thing that is hateful to you or anyone in this thread. If you dont want to be apart of this forum why are you still here spreading hate?

Well you see, it’s artistic, because my forum behavior is a metaphor for how phantom plays while in-game. Each time I flag your post for abuse is like when some edgelord phantom one-shots a person with their katana (nothin personnel, kid) while your attempts to reason with me or get me to leave is like when a phantom eats a headshot and doesn’t die, then five seconds later eats a proxy mine and doesn’t die, then five seconds later eats an arty strike and doesn’t die, then five seconds later eats a frag grenade and doesn’t die, then five seconds later eats a martyrdom (which is still a bad ability) and doesn’t die.

You clearly are inexperienced, and instead of listening to advice from evidently more advanced and skilled players, you continue to whine and moan that the merc is OP and threaten to leave the community unless he is removed.

Well, quite frankly, go on then. Leave. No-one cares. Its one idiot amongst a sea of good players and people who are willing to listen and learn, and not abuse the forums rules and facilities. This community will not miss you at all, nor will Splash Damage, nor will Nexon. Jog on.
