@“Admiral Teddy” RUUUUUN!
Why do YOU not use a microphone in public matches?
Sorry
I don’t use Voice Comms in game because I’m waaaaay too engrossed in actually doing what I’m supposed to be doing instead of telling other people what they should be doing.
I use voice chat pretty often. Most of the time I’m just feeding my team important info I cannot act upon myself; e.g. I’m down but the enemy is repairing the EV. I use it sparingly though, 2-5 times a game – many times not at all. Pretty rare that anyone listens anyway.
Usually I use it to ask for ammo, sometimes to inform on where I put an Aura station, or ask for a revive. Sometimes I use it to teach, like charging paddles increases health given on revive, using knife makes one run faster. Sometimes I ask for a specific plant position like in Underground or to not return the objective when we have it in an advantageous defending position.
I use it quite a lot, but I myself dislike hearing many other people talk. They either are saying random bullshit, or their English is intelligible, or they didn’t configure their mic levels to something that can be understood.
It would be nice if people would configure their mic properly and ask about things they don’t know and or communicate vital information. Unfortunately very few to none do so…
