In many game modes, especially execution, communication can be a game changer. Knowing where enemies are, where they’re pushing, and when they’re flanking or attacking objectives can be very useful. (Spotting phantom’s location also is a good use - even if that merc is in a sorry state as it is.)
Some people opt to use the quick-chat system. While this works sometimes, it can be difficult in the middle of a firefight, if one can even push the corresponding keys fast enough without losing mobility.
(Fun fact: You can re-bind the quick-chat button while in a match by hitting escape and options: they’re different than the default main-screen settings.)
I generally avoid using my voice unless others do first - not wanting to be an outcast, as stupid as that may seem. Also, being female, I will occasionally get odd reactions on the rare chance I do speak.
The worry of some I’ve asked tends to be along the lines of ‘shut up little kid’ - which, let’s be honest, is kind of dick-ish. Hating the pitch of someone’s voice is not always an immediate reason to disregard information they may have. (Although, if you’re under 14 and playing this game, even if skilled, you may be breaking some ESRB rules.)
List your reason for not speaking up mid-match below:
If you do speak in-game, what advantages have you seen your team have over the team not using voice chat?
p.s. The ESRB line was a joke. Don’t murder me. Q~Q;
p.p.s. The comment about phantom was not.
p.p.p.s. Still, don’t murder me please.
