Why do YOU leave the server at the end of the map?

Not including being done playing for today. Question only applies to leaving the server while you still intend on playing more.

A lot of people tend to leave the server at the end of the map, often leading to screwed up team balance, bad map progression, and bad stopwatch 1st rounds on the next map. Just a poll to gauge the reasons as to why people leave.

Too bad you can’t choose multiple options, but yeah mostly because I want to change the gamemode or I’m getting tired of people on that server.

Only 2 reason’s I’ll ever really leave a server is either: I want to switch game-mode, or I’ve finished playing for now. If I’ve got cases and stuff, I normally just wait until I’m about to leave the game before opening them.

Basically there are five options for me:

  1. My network is so bad that it’s literally unplayable.
  2. I need to join a friend’s match.
  3. I want to cancel a mission.
  4. I see an obvious cheater (which is luckily very, very, VERY rare).
  5. The obvious I’m done for now.

Mostly to get new opponents. Though I tend to not leave in between sw rounds, I suffer it through. If the match has been fairly close I’ll stick around because then the next match might also be good - unless of course everyone else leaves.

75% - option 4 - there’s <50% people left in the lobby
20% - option 5 - both teams were performing bad that I want to switch server. If last game was a stomp then a reshuffle should help, but if both teams were bad then nothing will help.
5% - I see some obvious attempts at stacking (going spec etc)

Because I’m done with my missions or my teammates are unreliable.

Looks like most people would have liked multiple choices… Switching mode is the most common one for me, followed closely by the number of players on the server dropping below “critical mass”.

I like playing with fresh people every match (I do not leave Stopwatch). Leads to the most interesting gameplay for me and helps me to avoid imbalanced matches sometimes if I see that coming.

Missing the option “I want to get into a new game faster”.

I’m done with the session, opening some cases, going to bathroom or for a smoke, changing mercs (I rather do it so without a time limit), going for another game mode, checking Steam forums, I’m done with people in the server (or myself sucking so hard), if the match was so unbalanced in Stopwatch or 2+ matches in Objective, if half of the people left (because the other half will leave later from the pre-game lobby) or I’m done with the game mode specific mission or all the missions.

My most common reasons:

  1. Missions finished.
  2. Everyone leaves leaving the game to be 2vs2.
  3. 5 vs 8 and everyone refuses to shuffle.

You can cancel a mission from the lobby by clicking on the X next to the mission in the messages menu.

These forums definitely need to have option added for polls for multiple option choosing. Summoning @MissMurder ! This stuff’s been buggering for quite a while now, maybe looking into this while attempting to fix the refreshing stuff with the like counters and whatnot? :slight_smile:

But to the poll yes. Mostly to get fresh people to play with/against, or because atmosphere is starting to feel like kindergarten due all attempted, badly written profanities and lousy insults flying around back and forth. And to switch gamemode, gotta catch all them gamemode bonuses!

multiple options could be nice, but I am more interested in the primary reason as to why people leave, cause all the reasons above are viable, so any players might as well select all

Either cases, annoying players or wanting a break/different game mode.

Generally it’s for the cases, I’m an eager twat that wants to get hyped for a cobalt and end up getting a lead.

The rare moment I do leave for another reason is either because of missions or just abandon ship when there’s a stack incoming.

Usually to switch game mode but all answers apply in a normals days gaming. I usually jump between objective and stopwatch, the skill level varies in both so when I want to just relax I jump on a objective server where it’s quick fire games and the games are usually lower in skill and when my friends are playing I’ll play some stopwatch to play a few games where I can concentrate and do well. Comp is my cryptonite atm, just can’t gather the strength to try it.

well this is complicated question that need much more option in the pool

i play Chapel, Trainyard, and Bridge ( i play Bridge only as defender ) those are some favorite maps of mine but i like and play Chapel the most

so

i leave if there is no maps i like
i leave if teams/balance is horrible
i leave if i have missions in other modes
i leave if i need to go eat, bath, rest, be with friends and family etc…
i leave if other players start leaving
i leave if i cannot team up with my friends

etc…
