Whos videos have been copyright struck?

(PixelTwitch) #1

Would like to know how much of a wide spread problem this is… Also, if you had them unlisted at all. I have enough videos uploaded to nuke my channel into the ground and need to know if I need them all deleted for safety even though I had permission?

Please let me know guys, Thanks…

I got a strike from Nexon for an Unlisted video of a hacker I used to report him/her. Talked to Anti about it.

I advise you to be very careful until this is sorted out, knowing it’s your job

Thanks for letting me know.
I have took screen caps of all the permissions I have received.

HOWEVER, If SD/Nexon would still allow me to record the upcoming Evac Zone beta cup this coming Saturday I would want written/emailed permission saying I can upload them unlisted. I cannot risk my rent, food and channel.

Easy solution:

Create a new channel and upload them there
That way your original channel, your food and your rent will be save.
Problem solved.

You’re welcome.

I would suggest (if not done already) to temporarily put all the videos you have of DB as private, record and shoutcast the cup and wait until you get authorizations and the whole striking people with unlisted video when it was allowed is solved.

For me I wouldn’t care much if my account was deleted, but for guys like Pixel making a living out of their Youtube channel, it’s a different story.

EDIT: this + hackers, not good

So far 1 of 1 videos that I’ve uploaded have got copyright strikes. I’m wondering if there is a better video service to upload the videos too instead of youtube that might make easy for us?

(potty200) #7

This is a shame as it takes away the potential casting of the up n coming cup this weekend. Would be a shame for everyone to miss out on this :frowning:

(Kl3ppy) #8

I dont see a problem here. Why do you have to upload it? You can record and shoutcast the games, just dont stream/upload them.

(RasteRayzeR) #9

Problem is how do we see it ? FTP with passworded archive ? Very practical …

(stealth6) #10

encrypt into a rar file with a password, load it onto a usb stick, wrap it in tinfoil and then mail it the old fashioned way. Might take a while for us all to see the vid, but it’s secure.

(Kl3ppy) #11

Wait till the NDA is lifted. I can imagine that it is a pain in the ass when someone uploads a vid to youtube and accidentally doesnt make it private. Someone finds this vid and thinks, oh cool, I can upload my vid too. After some time you have a couple of vids online and then you as a company has to make sure that all vids get removed. I would be pissed if I had to do this every day.

Wasnt it able during the alpha to record/shoutcast matches, send them (or somehow give them SD) and SD “published” the vids on their Youtube Channel?

The hacker topic is something different. But there is an email adress to which you can send the vids. So it is not necessary to upload the vids to youtube. Just zip/rar them and send them to SD.

Anyways, I really like that we have some professional streamers here, I like to watch good streams
Hopefully SD can clearify this soon

How do I report bugs ? Hackers ? Without videos it’s way harder. Also my videos are in unlisted, which is private unless you have the link. It was authorized to do so and I still got a copyright strike. That’s the real problem.

Yes, but this happened before the address and new system to report were set in place…

Oh I see. Maybe someone from SD/Nexon will comment this issue.

(RasteRayzeR) #14

Patiently waiting for it. Communication is not working very well lately tough. We badly need that new community manager.

(Smooth) #15

PixelTwitch, we’ve white-listed your account with Nexon so you’re good to go and post unlisted videos for the tournament

(Smooth) #16

Everyone else, we’re working with Nexon to make sure unlisted bug & hacker report videos aren’t sent a warning and that current infringements are revoked.

(RasteRayzeR) #17

Thanks for the info !

(Mustang) #18

There were never any problems until Nexon randomly started firing off copyright claims for something we’d already been okayed to do. It’s almost as if they don’t care if there is a community or not. Also why are SD left to pickup the pieces on this? Do Nexon community managers not have a voice?

(Ceres) #19

That brings us to the point, why is Nexon needed at all? From a player’s point of view, it’s just SD guys doing everything anyway.

(PixelTwitch) #20

Because games are very expensive to make.
