Who Is The Most Annoying Merc?

(gg2ez) #41
OH MY FUCKING GOOOOOD I HATE AURA!!! That was a bit of an over-exaggeration lol.

It mainly stems from the fact that auras don’t revive, they literally walk in front of me and don’t do anything. Or they just run around dying and shotgunning people and never drop a health station.

But fighting against aura around a chokepoint is almost as horrible. They’re like infestations, everyone flocks around the health station, fraggers, rhinos etc. And when you finally manage to kill them the sneaky little aura runs and revives them before you can do anything. So you have to cherry pick the aura out of all the fatties while they’re shooting you.

However recently I think I’ve learned to cope, but I’m now scarred for my db life.
Obviously you’ve never played with a good Aura then. There have been countless times where Auras have saved by a*s (if I don’t panic Martyrdom on them first).

Kira. She’s otaku trash (you know it’s true).

(gg2ez) #43

Gomenasai-kyaa~

On a side note, Vasilli rides in a close second, both friendly and enemy. I probably dont need to explain how annoying it is to be instagibbed, especially at close range.

well, characters i find annoying are the ones who have not much counterplay. the characters i concider to have least counterplay/hard to counterplay are fletcher, fragger vasili and proxy.
splash damage did a great job with the fragger nerf, his grenades arent as spammable anymore, so it takes a more skilled player to use them to their full potential. yes, sometimes you can just get blown to bits out of nowhere, but it doesent happen that often anymore (at least for me).
fletcher also takes much more skill now, but his bombs dont do that much damage, yes a bomb that sticks to your face will murder you as a squishy merc, but for anyone tankier it wont mean much, since you will survive the explosion. most fletchers i meet are conservative with their bombs and try to use as less as possible for a single kill.
vasili isn’t that annoying, and i really dont want him to lose the instakill on his snipers, the only thing i’d like to be changed would be the fire rate and reload speed of those snipers. that way it would be much more difficoult and rewarding to hit headshots.
and for proxy… well i do fall for her traps a lot, but once you’ve played her yourself, you’ll start expecting some specific spots that they mined, lets say, the bomb sites, the generators, tight hallways and such.

the only merc i actually find annoying is rhino. i once had a game at bridge where the enemy team blocked off the road and there was really nothing we could do to get in, he would mow us down with his aura. even a nader couldnt throw enough nades before she got shred to bits. well, anyway, thats just my experience.

edit: phantom annoys me a lot just because people try to be badass with him when they end up finishing the round at 200 points. and dont even get me started on whats it like when hes on free rotation

I hate Kira. Small, fast target that bites pretty hard from afar. Vasili tends to camp and is not so unpredictable. Kira is much more dangerous to ignore.

(HoopleDoople) #47

Vassili, because snipers are incredibly obnoxious in every game ever. And it’s not just the amazing snipers that will blow your head off if you ever leave cover - bad snipers (that is to say almost all of them) will sink their team faster than anything. Vassili is even more annoying than most snipers due to insta-gib and seemingly minimal accuracy loss under fire.

That said, the merc with the highest annoyance potential is Rhino. Most of the time he is a fun and fair fight, as he has high health and close range DPS at the cost of mobility. But when he finds the perfect camp spot with Aura backup, you might as well just quit to save yourself the frustration.

(SpinnerzNQ) #48

I usually don’t have a problem with a good Vassili on my team, but the majority of them are people who thought “Hey, I wanna be a sniper!” and then play the sniper constantly even though they suck with him and is just a burden to the team. I can’t say too much though, because that’s exactly what I did XD.
Luckily, I realized my mistake soon enough to stop playing him and just have fun with Aura, Skyhammer, and the merc rotations. Then I got 50k

(Sir_Slam) #49

Nader. I can’t stand martydom in tight spaces. When its a semi effective strategy to suicide bomb a crowded room, something is seriously wrong.

(wolvie) #50

Rhino, I would go as far as saying OP, but definitely super annoying when you come face to face when he’s camping around a corner. XD

(HoopleDoople) #51

Nader exists specifically to counter this. Grouping up together indoors would otherwise be a broken strategy at some of the objectives. There will always be some BS from martyrdom, but overall I think it is a fun and welcome addition to the game. Personally, this is one of the few things in the game that makes me amused rather than annoyed when I die to it.

(Bestfinlandball) #52

Aura just becaise of her annoying voice

(blisteringOwlNest) #53

Literally every players that have explosions. Not because their op or anything, only because I seem to have a habit of always running into explosions just as they go off. Always.

(Grave_Knight) #54

You mean a southern accent which I’m pretty sure is Mississippian?

(yusayu) #55

Fragger, cause too strong. Just watch any tournament, im bored out of my mind of him.

(Rjsto) #56

Shotguns. Shotgun is a class, right? Yeah, hate that guy

I was mainly talking about fighting auras.

(Flux_User) #58

Since Rhinos have been in rotation, it’s been annoying getting mowed down by three at a time… Oh, and “Rhino Balls”. You know, when 2/3 Rhinos stand next to each other and shoot in different directions. Seriously, why? It doesn’t even work that well!

(Sir_Slam) #59

I mean, I know that. You’re completely right. But it doesn’t make me want to smash my face through my computer any less. And ultimately I value my blood pressure over everyone else’s fun.

You guys are literally killing me and making me poor(er) through new monitor costs. I hope you feel good about yourselves.

I guess she’s good for something though. Take a shot every time you watch in horror as some dumbass runs up and tries to knife her when’s she’s down. You’ll be skyhammered enough for the entire room.
