Which cases do you prefer?

Good value considering the difference in chance for getting a cobalt

(RyePanda) #3

Allows for less money spent but similar results (if you trade up the bronzes). But I got some expert cases and got the best loadouts in bronze for Arty and Bushwhacker.

(YeOldeButtcheek) #4

It’s pretty much a good case all around because of the 3 augments.

(Mister__Wiggles) #5

Without a doubt Expert cases. The 2% difference is hardly an issue and I have already cased a few golds with them. Kind of makes Elite cases redundant tbh, maybe add a cobalt % boost for them would make them viable again.

(YeOldeButtcheek) #6

It’s a good medium that mostly more people will buy.

(Yes) #7

Go big or go home.

(Jurmabones) #8

Free is good. Though I’ve definitely bought some elites.

(_Sniff_) #9

I make it rain. Elite case.

The chance you getting a cobalt is worse than Elite cases. You just get 2 shots at 3%. Expert Cases are worse in every way except price.

(XavienX) #10

I’m cheap, unlike @Sniff , who’s like a millionaire.

(MarsRover) #11

I won’t be buying any cases for $$$ until there’s much less RNG, nor will I trade up to anything higher than bronze. Only “Equipment Cases (Found in-game)” for me until then.

(SteelMailbox) #12

Unless I am on a trade up spree to get a gold the only cases I get are from matches

Actually Sniff 2 shots at 3% means that it’s around 5.9% to get either 1 of 2 or both cobalts. So it’s actually a bit better than the elite case if all you want is cobalts.

(Amerika) #14

None. Please take away gambling and let me buy what I want.

(kibloy) #15

Expert cases seem kind of useless to me if you’re going for bling because there’s only a 30% chance of getting a card that isn’t straight up buyable in the store.

That said, I just bought one because I wanted to open a case and was 10 cents short of an elite case and got this… After 5 failed gold tradeups trying to get a MoA loadout

Ain’t the best but I am still jelly

I obviously prefer the ones you get for free. Not going to bother with expert or elite cases unless they can be purchased for credits.

Actually brontesaur it’s 2 shots at 3% that means 6/200 times should be a cobalt. Not 6/100.

@Ryepanda you make that disagree go bye-bye :frowning:

You reduce the 6/200 into 3/100

@Ryepanda you make that disagree go bye-bye :([/quote]

Isn’t it like (3/100 + 3/100 = 6/100) or (3/100 * 2/1 = 6/100)?

Rule of Subtraction: The probability that event A will occur is equal to 1 minus the probability that event A will not occur.
P(A) = 1 - P(A’)

Probability of not getting a cobalt in either case is .97 * .97 = 0.9409.
So the probability of getting at least one cobalt from the 2 cases = 1 - 0.9409 = 0.0591 or 5.91%, which is slightly higher than the elite case’s 5%.
