Where is everyone ?

Hello, first of all i would like to say i really like Brink…

But i have the feeling that there are less and less players everyday, actually there are only 4 300 players on brink with a peak of 9 800, few days ago there were 10 000 players easily on the game, I know we are in the week, but even this weekend there were not many players either

(H3LLS1) #2

lack of players stem from the reviews all over the internet that have trashed this game.

(sirius89) #3

Sure there are less and less players every day.

All costumers are waiting on the patch or returned to game already.

LA Noire has taken up my time yesterday, and probably today too.

Sad to say but the evidence towards this game dying on pc. For those of you saying it is’nt, yes it is, hardly any populated servers compared some 6 year old games.

Damn shame coz i like this game, guess ppl got bored of the one gametype and 8 maps. can’t say i blame them tbh.

(Apples) #6

I still cant get how people can be bored after what… one week with a game??? Damn this consumerism society of spoiled brats…

(Wieke) #7

Well I’m catching up on my homework. Maybe some freed up some time to play at launch but won’t be able play as much now (like me).

I kinda agree, I played bc2 without getting bored of maps at all. On cod9spits in disgust at thought of this game lol) I got bored of maps really quick though, as they felt tiny and claustrophobic, and of course ppl would always pick same few maps.

however, (im included here) theres a lot of ppl who want to like this game(i actually really see a lot to like), but just arent prepared to sit and wait for it to be fixed, watch the game lose value fast, and possibly not be fixed properly anyway, so they trading it in fast and saying, well, if it gets fixed and ends up well, then illl pick it up again cheaper.

I have only decided to join this exodus today, after noting on Eurogamer forums, that lots of the ppl that like the game(theres still many who dont too) who are doing this, and i played online last night and could only get 3 players and the rest bots. I waited a month or so for them to fix crysis 2, and its still a mess, it took 6 months before black ops was playable, and im just not prepared to wait and see community die, especially as its largely mp based, when i could still trade it for la noire for £5 and get free blu ray of la confidential and go back to playing bc2 and kz3 lag free. (ive not had huge lag issues like some, but still the basic points remain).

i hate that its come to this, but i got burnt on too many games(crysis 2 halved in trade value overnight when i waited) and im not getting burnt again.

Sorry, but thats *****.
Yes, it is loosing players, but there will always stay a good amount of players who REALLY likes this game
I think me and my clan, for example, are going to play it for a good while. Because for the most of us its one of the best FPS’s of the last years. Also there won’t come any other big FPS in the next time.

Also, its no wonder that there are not many people playing at this time. (i also start playing later, because I’ve got no time now)
Wait till evening and the number of players will rise

wrong… anyone that’s into objective based gaming has no problems repeating maps. OLD games remain populated because there are far more gamers with out of date computers that can’t afford to upgrade or arent interested in doing so. Plus most of those games are border line free now.

There are less numbers playing online for sure but not anything alarming. We’re talking monday and the new games released yesterday plus the fact that many people (IF AT ALl?) can buy the game on steam in the UK. Brink was plagued with a lot of issues that put some people off but hopefully the patch brings a good chunk back.

The game is still in the top 5 selling games list on most charts. I’m very confident in this game outdoing ETQW in every way with proper patching.

(eMwegA) #12

Yep its because the society sucks not the game. Its unplayable for me. So i have to wait for a huge patch. Your post is redicolous bs…

(Spez) #13

Im not bored. Im frustrated by constant crashes, sound bugs and connectivity issues.

I work hard for my money and don’t have much time to play video games. So of course i’m picky.

(.Chris.) #14

I’m working.

(Suarez07) #15

I agree the game is at fault, and am really worried for the video game industry with the trend of half finished games and games that have major online issues over the short term

However i do agree that ppl are ridiculous in how quick they start slating games and abandoning them. I give a game a minimum of two weeks to settle down online, as online games always have initial issues, including the biggest and best ip’s in the market.(6 months before i could play any sort of consistent game on blops)

the games barely been out a week in uk, but ppl have been slamming it since day one, and even though the lag is getting better for most ppl, but ppl are just not prepared to wait. Then look at how ppl reacted to psn being down. 25 days without online and ppl were spewing bile, selling their ps3 for a quick fix of cod etc. FFS if u cant find anything else to do and ur life revolves so much around cod and online gaming, u need addiction therapy. go for a walk, clean ur house, walk the dog, watch a film, do some exercise(know this is alien to some ppl these days), play some sp games(again radical and alien i know)

I want this game to succeed and will maybe pick up in future as i think its great team based game, its just got issues right now, and im not prepared to get stuck with a coaster worth nothing and only playable with the (crappy) ai

(EnderWiggin.DA.) #16

Some people have finals? Lots of graduations coming up.

(goodpain) #17

The number of servers being put up is always increasing. And my server list is packed full of games. Not sure what you’re seeing

(Sono) #18

I never look at how many people are playing b/c I just sort the server list by ping, start from the bottom and never have to go very far to find a low ping server that’s nearly full to join. Overall though, it does seem like there are a lot more servers than there were just last week as the totals were initially in the hundreds and now it’s been >1000 since last Wednesday or Thursday for the PC.

The reviews haven’t helped the game much either, especially since a lot of people seem to be lumping all of the various versions together into one review or focusing on the awful console versions.

(Azev2000) #19

75% of servers are empty. Saying otherwise is a complete lie.

If a game is great you do not need to make excuses for why the population is low after just 1 week.

(Om3ga) #20

Me either, i love this game and less players = less trolls and lamers :stuck_out_tongue:

Y’know, most of servers are in US = more ping for EU players. 25% of servers are in EU then rolf

Brink server list.
