Where is everyone ?
Me either, i love this game and less players = less trolls and lamers :stuck_out_tongue:

Y’know, most of servers are in US = more ping for EU players. 25% of servers are in EU then rolf

Brink server list.
All you did was just prove my point. I don’t consider population by region. I look at it as a whole.

The game would be acceptable for $19.99, but they decided to charge a AAA price to cash in on all us morons who were hungry for a team objective based game.

(Apples) #22

Next time wait for more reviews and dont preorder if you are so picky about your monies? This is what I call consumerism… And yeah the way people’s mind are working never cease to amaze me nowadays, I understand your concerns, but the patches are coming, and SD are usually fast, getting constant BS while they already patched many stuffs in a matter of day from what I heard, this is what I call spoiled child, patience is the mother of all vertue, or so I heard…

Well call me old fashionned

So… for me it is a AAA game
And was worth every penny.

(sereNADE) #24

if the 100 remaining members of the etqw community can still play and enjoy their games on 5 regularly used servers or less then what is stopping you from enjoying brink? “game is dead” arguments are about the silliest thing the mention imo and in some cases you begin to imply you can’t get along with the players who regularly play. a lit up server browser is nice and exciting but not necessary to in determining if you got your money’s worth.

(H3LLS1) #25

and your post is repetitive to the point you should just copy/paste your rants instead of spending time trying to type up new and improved ways to complain LOL
i hate that its come to this, but i got burnt on too many games(crysis 2 halved in trade value overnight when i waited) and im not getting burnt again.
Thanks for your input. As a PC gamer I never really got what trading games was about and now I think I sort of understand it. There is no real second hand market for the PC as far as I know. You buy a game, you stick with it. You play it as long as you want to play and then it collects dust on your shelve.

Maybe that second hand market is where the general acceptance for short games comes from. If you are going to trade it in anyway you don’t care if it’s only 5 hours of gameplay. The shorter it is the more money it will get you when you trade it in. On the PC you are stuck with the game and you pay the full price no matter how much gameplay value it offers.

PS: You guys are quick for a “the game is dying” thread. My order didn’t even arrive yet.

(SubXulu) #27

I think its the lag, i thought just playing the 5 v 5 would sort it out but no … half the games i joinned last night were rubberbandy lag fests , it really is a shame because when it works the game is awsome and SD only have themselves to blame for the community leaving the game already.

(Brink Lags) #28

Well, for consoles, without servers, the game is dead. More bots than humans.

1 of my friends didn’t trade it in. Its him and I left. The 15 other friends I saw with it on launch day have told me they traded it in. So there goes playing the game with a team of people I know would play like a team.

So, the game is dead. Failure to launch.

I will never preorder one of their games again. I am certain of that. It sound like you live your life accepting Mediocrity. I put in 110% into everything I do, and expect that when I pay a AAA price that I will receive a AAA product. BRINK does not even come close.

I am actually a very patient person when I know someone put 110% into something and was honest about the result. I am not patient when there was an obvious lack of effort and honesty. I can assure you I am not a child.

Children believe in Santa Claus, just like you believe this game will get patched to the product we all expected. The sad thing is they both end the same way… a frown and an empty feeling inside.

Never pre-order? Who would ever buy another Splash Damage game again? They took years to deliver a game not ready for release. Then released it anyway for $60. They also paid no mind to taylor making it for half the platform base in even the most rudimentary fashion.

Now, even if they fix the game, the launch player base is gone thanks to the trade-in policies adopted by game stores.

SD should cut and run, dissolve the company and come up with a new company. Their game making credibility under the name Splash Damage is dead.

I’d like an apology at this point. Brink as it was made and was hoped to be played by my team of friends is dead even if they fix the game. The ship has sailed. A shame since this game is incredible, I think.

I read reviews and i was well aware that the gamestyle might not fit my expectations. But im not talking about brinks gameplay. I cant play it at all. No review said: Wont run on Ati cards smoothly. Asking for my patience after i bought the game is a litte too much to ask imho. Its obvious that the game got released too early where was their patience?!

@H3llS1 I didnt know that i was restricted to paricipate in only one thread in this forum.

@Azev Dont agree with you in one point. I really believe that they will patch the game so it will run quite well.
What makes me angry is, that most of the problems are so obvious that its hard to believe that the devs didnt know that this fail launch would happen…

Of course they will fix performance eventually, but what about the ton of missing features and content. You will get content eventually, but it will cost you.

(eMwegA) #33

that might be the problem. Also guess that the promised “Free DLC” is nothing more than the things they missed because of the early release…

(Kratos) #34

The fact that they were originally going to charge us for content that was obviously taken out of the retail game to sell as a DLC is quite frustrating. If they finished 4 maps (Example DLC Size) in one month even while fixing issues. Then What the **** is the reason for the game being so stripped of features and content. That is like taking money from a salvation army jar while no one is looking and then throwing it back in.

(H3LLS1) #35

I’m just saying, man, every thread i go into to read about tihs game i see:

“game sucks…omfg…ATi…can’t play…” over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over lol pretty sure that they probably realize, by now, that you are having a slight issue. have you CONTACTED them? voiced your issue beyond simple forum flaming? if not, i would suggest that you do that. if i was in your shoes…i would be just as pissed…but i would also DO SOMETHING about it.
Hello, first of all i would like to say i really like Brink…

But i have the feeling that there are less and less players everyday, actually there are only 4 300 players on brink with a peak of 9 800, few days ago there were 10 000 players easily on the game, I know we are in the week, but even this weekend there were not many players either
I’m still here and so are my friends, who pre-ordered Brink. Even though the game still feels like a beta, it’s still awesome! If Splash Damage continuously updates/enhances the game and doesn’t charge us 15+ $/€ for a couple of maps, this game might become as popular as TF2 before Valve added the new hat-items garbage, that fudged up the game.

Let’s hope SD keeps up the good work!

(Bettik) #37

This game is just very different than what the mainstream has come to expect from a first-person shooter. No more, no less. I would venture to guess that many people like other prominent FPS games like CoD, TF2, BFBC2, and etc, because they don’t emphasize teamwork anywhere near the amount Brink does. After the initial run, they become complacent and play the game like it was a round of golf or something.

Brink is has simply culled the fat right from the get-go. The people that continue to play it are the ones that enjoy the level of teamwork and lack of selfishness that it demands for it to be fun and rewarding. That’s all.

In other words, the only way a game like this would ever have the number of players that some other more “traditional” FPS games does is if it had the same caliber of player that they do. Would you like to have 20,000 players at all times if it meant that the vast majority of them tried to play the game like it was CoD? Not to say that CoD players are bad players or even that the game is bad - just that they are playing a very different style of game.

Delusion is fun.

Yes, this game is very different from mainstream FPS games. It doesn’t work. That’s how you cull the fat real quick from the get-go.

Hey , I know what ur saying, but dont misunderstand me, I intended to keep the game, although In case of crysis 2 mp I wasn’t convinced 100% anyway by the gameplay( nor by sp if I’m honest) , but my point is that crysis 2 was still horrible to play online after about a month or so of waiting, with ppl shooting u around corners due to the lag, the hit detection was botched etc( I had a look online at forums other day and still no patches for most the issues) and I just dont want a game with issues and in future no players online , so even if I trade it will be worth next to nothing too.

I can see how the pc version will survive, as u have dedicated server options , whilst us console owners , especially being on ps3 are in a totally different situation. The ps3 userbase is much smaller than 360 one to start with , and I’m never in full game anyway , it’s 3 on my team max and rest are bots. So if it gets worse , then what’s left ???

(DrpPlates) #40

that remains to be seen, i for one dont see it… PC wise…

ETQW was a PC game, ported to console… BRINK is a console game Ported to PC… (poorly)

yeah ETQW had, well still has it’s issue… those, I imagine could have been fixed with more patches. lack-o-vision put a end to that… But ETQW was far more ‘giving’ to the PC gamer, settings/menus and so on…

Brink is very limited, that may change, i dont know… but right now, know many players coming from ETQW that played Brink and left… they werent expecting ETQW2, but they werent expecting what they got…

time will tell how Brink plays out, patches are key… we’ll see what SD does and how they, or if they respond the PC community… i’ll give SD a few round of patches and hope for the best…

again, time will tell…
