How is crouch, jump, and prone more superior than XT’s movement? Crouch is crouch and it will be further optimized I’m sure, jump is jump, and prone well that’s a terrible mechanic. There is no skill in running up into someones face and proning and shooting their ankles, unless that’s your determination of “skill/aim.” Strafe jumping however, was nice, again, not necessary in XT. I don’t think it would fit well at all TBH.

Not sure I played the better version of the game called RtCW. Where it was 1 HS iirc.

HS Hitboxes are like half of what they were in ET and RtCW what are you talking about? Recoil is simple, unless you’re referring to horizontal recoil than yeah I’m not a fan. For me the Sniper isn’t OP. I have no problems walking around main streets and flanking them for easy kills. If they miss ONCE they are dead. I’m not sure how good you were in ET, but if you’re having trouble closing gaps on snipers in XT, one of the tightest games I ever played, you’re playing like an Ernie or better yet not playing at all.

Well, you’ll be waiting for awhile. They said multiple times that they aren’t doing heavy balancing until OBT…

There is a ton that separates the good from the bad. I don’t think any imbalance in the game is that slanted.

I think there’s something inherent about getting one-shot that just makes people rage really hard. I decided to try playing proxy about a week back, and even though my k/d or k/r was nowhere near what it is when I play my usual mercs (skyhammer, stoker, vassili), people were still complaining in chat and rage quiting left and right. Spookify was one of them, and he made posts complaining about shotguns being OP almost immediately after ranting in chat and rage quiting the server.

Whether or not that means that such complaints should be ignored or considered indicative of one-shot weapons being detrimental to player satisfaction is difficult to say.

My issue with the shotguns right now aren’t so much with the fact that I can get killed by a single shot it’s still the fact that it’s so… random.

Normally when playing a game and come up against someone I know have a shotgun, normally you’d think “If I keep my distance I’ll be fine” which is not the case with the shotguns right now. It’s more like, “Oh a shotgun, I’ll just go someplace else.”.

Sometimes you get killed from 1 shot from, what feels like, a mile away. Other times you get hit 4 times and walk away with more than 40% health left.
The same goes for when you’re actually using it. Sometimes you can shove the gun up someones nose, let a round of and they barely notice it and vice versa.

I feel like there seem to be only 2 options with todays gamers. Either you make the shotgun viable for playing and get a lot of complaints like it is now, or you make it weak and noone plays it anymore.

Since last patch i don’t think medic is underpower and shootgun overpwer : at mid range and close range the medic smg is awsome ! Sure u can’t reatch the fops dmg with the same accurate but YOU ARE A MEDIC your goal is suposed to be revive / heal teamates no deal damage ! And the shootgun, what about that ? op close range useless long range what’s the problem ?

If iwound is a Shotgun and NERD is a medic then yeah iwound should have a chance that is how unbalanced it is.

I also played RTCW and the sniper was perfect in that game. Xt Sniper is soooo easy to use!

I have tried to log in an play but its hard to find ppl at night and I am not playing on Euro servers unless I absolutely have too.

I will just troll the forums and it seems to be working until the game is fixed… Got to get my money and kicks out of this situation some how…

Quick question…does anyone know if we are able to have the friends list on-screen after launching the game? I find that once you click Launch Game and get in-game, the contact lis don’t show up anymore…and the only way to see if friends are online is to check every servers or exit the game to go back to the launcher.

Since the RtCW sniper was perfect you are fine with 1HS and massive hitboxes. Sounds like we’re on track in XT.

I think the hit boxes are small compared to W:ET, especially head box, but I think center of mass shots work better in Xt

I think the problem with this way of thinking is that it implies a belief that only the best players should be rewarded. That’s all well and fine for leagues and tournaments, but it’s never going to go over with casuals nor win over the larger, more robust audience SD is looking for. I’ve said it before: no one enjoys being consistently stomped. No one. You have to give people a chance; some way to level the playing field against the higher skill players. People might not like that opinion, but I believe it to be very true.

That’s not an entirely true statement(well ok in hardcore mode it is but most people don’t play that). In the regular core gameplay, headshots still count more and the more highly skilled aimers are still rewarded because of it. I get it…some people are not fans of COD or its style of play, and that’s fine. But one of the reasons it is so successful is because it’s accessible. Players who are not as talented at headshots still stand a chance. And if SD wants a larger audience, only rewarding the most skilled players is not going to do it.

I actually agree with most of what you say here. What I see is a lot of the same things we’ve seen before, more poorly done, with some extra features borrowed from COD that are not(yet) very well implemented.

All that being said, I do understand SD are still testing ideas and working on the core gameplay, so I’m still hopeful that down the road, as the game is polished that it will come together more…cohesively, and in a manner which compromises for both the competitive and casuals alike(which I do believe is possible to accomplish).

Back on the topic of people not playing much, I still have tremendous issues with the movement and tracking in general, and that remains the main reason keeping me away. I don’t mind playing on EU servers with a higher ping, but add in to that the movement issues, general slowdown, etc and I just don’t stand a chance. That’s not fun. I understand we’re supposed to be testing mostly, but I can’t test anything but the limbo menu when I’m dead so much lol :tongue:
