When will the new mercs out ?

It will be almost a week and still not new mercs. The game become boring already. I wish had more options in attack for fulfill objectives like stroker / nadder / fletcher or even red eyes for the smoke cover.

I don’t get why all the old mercs are not present now. In your prelaunch build for the press, all mercs was available…

While I don’t really agree with Parmenion on the quote, that the game “becomes boring already”, I am just interested when new/old Mercs are being re-released :wink:

So far, I find this game interesting and not 1 bit “becoming boring”, though. ^^

Are you planning to re-release all the previously released mercs before the game goes out of closed beta? So when the game is released, people will have access to all the mercs right away?

I don’t understand why you’re holding back previously released mercs and then decide to release them one by one as if it’s new content and the game has been launched.

Release all of them, finish the game, launch it, then start releasing new mercs on a regular basis. I’m sure LoL didn’t launch with just 7 heroes.

Are you gonna release these old mercs at a higher price point because they are “new”. That’s gonna piss me off a little if you do.

Exactly, if we must wait 2 weeks between every mercs, i will just stop playing this game until the full release…
Better play killing floor 2 in few weeks!

Seriously, this behavier is incomprehensible, a base of 20 mercs is low already.
Currently Proxy is the only engi if you want play objectives and the spamm mine is really boring :confused:

Honestly if you find the game boring at this stage then having extra Merc’s available to you isnt going to change that. I think the current release speed of Mercs is perfectly fine. Remeber a lot of new people are being brought on board with this beta and to release the content over time is perfectly acceptable.

Right now I think its more important that they are squashing bugs and reading the feedback we are providing on the forum to help balance the game.

I understand the comparisons to LoL but realistically how many different types of Merc’s can you expect there to be? I think there is a nice spread at the moment and its important to release them slowly to gauge feedback and to see how they impact the game. That applies for both new and old players alike.

Its a marathon, not a sprint.

Before this release the game with all mercs was perfectly fine. Honestly the mercs balance is about one unique skill. Not too hard…
It’s not a moba.

I had more fun with all mercs playable than now with these mine and healbstation everywhere.

Most people will be playing this game as free to play right now. Meaning new Mercs will take time to unlock, introducing them doesn’t gurantee that there will be a wider spread of Mercs on public servers.

If it’s not too hard to balance, then why are there so many threads saying need this or buff that? A quick glance down general discussion will see several threads dedicated to shotguns, healing station and proxy mines. Throwing all the mercs into that mix right now just wouldn’t help.

Be patient, go play something else for a while if you need to, then come back when there are more mercs available.

Maybe because they take them out, balance them, and then re-release a more balanced and new version of the Merc?

Tell me
Is it better to leave an overpowered Merc in the game, and many people play the OP Merc to stomp others, and then, maybe 1-2 months later, this Merc is balanced by a balance-patch?
Or would it be better to take a certain Merc out of the game, as soon as he is discovered to be overpowered, so noone can “spam” this Merc?

(I think that’s the reason behind why they’re doing this, but maybe I’m wrong, though)

None of these points are applied to this game.
Aura is broken, she’s still here and if i take stroker, what is difficult to balance?
It’s a skyhammer with a molotov…

Maybe they re-working or tweaking some of the mercs so Stoker isn’t just Sky with a Molotov?

So your view is Aura is broken? Yet you still want to go ahead and add all the other mercs, knowing full well that the game could end up with a lot of broken mercs?

I think you need to remember we are less than a week into this closed beta period.

That’s not a good reason to remove the merc. Unless a merc is completely broken and needs to be reworked then hotfixes are the way to go. It doesn’t take weeks to tweak a value, that’s something that can be done in minutes, add some testing time and we’re talking a few hours.

So you think they can remove a bunch of mercs for months, tweak and release and you think they’ll just be balanced? Probably not, they’ll need to tweak more, should they remove them again? Nah, hotfixes bruv!

Doubt they were removed because they were OP, but it does make sense to add them one by one to focus balance each of them. However I don’t think they should charge extra for them. I don’t think they should do that until new content after launch.

You can’t evaluate if a merc is broken if all the other mercs are not in game.
If i take Aura, the heal station has too much HP and only fragger can be effective.
With all mercs Nader / fletcher or stroker will counter the heal station better than fragger and the heal station should be perfectly balanced.

That’s why it’s bullshit to release mercs at this rate, better balance with all mercs in game now.

Is it really so hard to release the old mercs in packs like this set? They’re already made and tested, and I’m sure that having folks like Bushwhacker and Stokes would help the current meta. I’m personally waiting for Nader though…
