I only get FPS drops occasionally, making game run somewhere around 30 fps… And the sound is lagging too.
When will the freezes be fixed?
Sadly, nothing fixed it. Thanks for trying to help guys. > @GatoCommodore said:

Sploosh, if you can test your setup by increasing your RAM to 16GB and increase windows page file, you might decrease the 4 sec freeze.I get freezes similar to most players (that make me miss my jumps, and enough to get me killed) but it’s no where near 1 second (maybe 50~220ms), but I’m using 32GB and ASUS RAM Cache to offload the high volume of HD i/o.
I wish I could. Don’t have any extra RAM laying around. I might have to just buy some more RAM, but I also don’t want to just decrease the freezes, I want them to stop. I never used to get freezes, DB was very stable for me when I first started playing in late 2015, but now it’s all over the place after the stream of updates in the past year. It used to be a very smooth game, not so much anymore.
The freezes also vary a bit. Sometime’s it’s just 1 second freezes, but other times it can last up to 4 and look like my game’s gonna crash or something. DB’s the only game I experience any sort of problem with D:

I do have freezes that happen very randomly. I can have none for a whole day as well as I can have two or three in the same match. I have no clue what causes them, but I though from the start that I was the only one with those kind of issues, and it was mostly due to the fact that my hard drive was old. Was I wrong ? D:And I have like, 20GB of RAM. No kidding.
Definitely not alone. People just sorta stopped posting about it. I plan on getting a second hard drive or maybe a SSD anyways, so maybe that will help. The freezes for me are completely random and some matches are much better than others. Sometimes they happen every minute and other times every 5-10 minutes, but they always happen at the worst time! (someone delivering, defusing, etc).

Had that happen awhile ago, like with the problems with NGS or whatever it was. I wish I was just experiencing those major slowdowns again rather than these all out freezes.
What about AVAST antivirus game mode?
Did anyone record performance difference, whether it’s on or off? Or any antivirus software and their game modes?

I run avast and i dont have any issues with it running
You should monitor your CPU usage during gameplay. If it’s above 80% (which i doubt), and you play on lower settings with hundreds of fps, you could try bumping the settings up or maybe lock your framerate. Having higher framerates means your CPU has to push more frames, in turn causing freezes, frameskipping and so-on. I did this yesterday, but i haven’t had enough time to really test it.

Didn’t know antiviruses had game modes, but I’ve disabled AVG and it makes no difference for me.

I’ve monitored it before, and from what I remember, CPU usage didn’t go up that high or spike or anything. I could be wrong though as it’s been a while, so I’ll do it again. Any monitoring programs you might recommend? I think I have a pretty good one that also displays other important stuff like temperatures and what not.
I play on all high graphic settings (well mostly, excluding some motion blur stuff that I find annoying). I have tried a lot of different setting combinations, including lowering everything down of course- nothing really changes, still over 100 FPS either way.
I have tried everything set to the lowest settings i can set them to, and then everything set to maxed out settings and still get the lock-ups, settings seem to have no effect on the amount of lock-ups.
They better do something about it, I recently bumped into freeze + crash.
@Sploosh, it’s DB’s netcode.
UE3 doesn’t really take advantage of multi-core/thread processing as it was written at a time of in the infancy of dual core processors.
