When will the freezes be fixed?

UE3 and texture streaming guys. I’ve bought a second SSD, it’s sadly becoming mandatory.

Not sure what you mean. Are you suggesting that installing the game on a different SSD then Windows will fix the freezes?

His HDD is a 1TB western digital. On my side, I’ve bought a second one because my first one was a 250GB and it was fast full and the few space left is for cache.

@M4st0d0n Well, sure, an SSD will make loading faster. I have both Windows and DB on a 512 GB SSD and it still keeps freezing.

Be careful with your HDD @ImSploosh if things are getting worse. Start backing things up and test it with S.M.A.R.T.

Not the problem. All other games, including UE3 games work fine and I keep track of my hardrive’s status. The issue is with Dirty Bomb. It’s been a while now so I’m not even sure what update brought this along anymore.

The game is getting much worse in terms of performance. Back in late 2015/early 2016, it was much better. Servers also just felt better, not so much lag like there is now (teleporting, getting shot behind walls, late kills, etc.). It’s all gotten much worse and makes playing ranked especially difficult. Many of the problems haven’t even been addressed as far as I know. It sucks because DB is my favorite game and what I still consider the best available FPS right now, but if this keeps up, I will most likely look elsewhere.

I feel like it’s gotten worse with one of the latest updates. All I can do is hitting strafe and praying to RNGsus to deliver me from certain death by game freeze.

Same. :frowning: I just start jumping around and hope for the best. Sadly, most of the time I end up dead because the freezes like to happen at the worst possible times.

I had the game freezing too, but not every minute or so like OP. Some due to lag, too, i suspect. But a freeze every minute or so, that’s alarming.

Where is the bottleneck? You could run some system monitoring program so you know if it’s clientside or serverside. You could also see if EAC is not messing up with some other program you run along, like antivirus.

I’ve monitored my game in multiple ways now. Gonna look at some other possible factors again to see if I missed anything. EAC doesn’t seem to be shooting up in CPU usage (like NGS did at one point which made tons of people have problems). I’ve also turned off every program possible while playing DB. D:

Did u do a full delete. Delete in steam and then manualy remove the left over files.
Run check disk
Are u using windows 10 game mode if so turn it off
Did u check to see if your cpu and gpu is caked in dust
Did u switch to regular from super unleaded gas

Yes.
Think I did it.
Not that I know of, but I’ll check.
Didn’t really think of this one, but I’ll clean it off, I’m sure it has a little dust, but I’ve cleaned it already while this has been happening.
My car actually takes premium only sadly (can take regular, but it’s not the best option for the car as the gas mileage/money saved isn’t good) :frowning:

I’m gonna go back later on today and do my 10th full delete/reinstall, etc. It’s actually kinda weird because now that I think about it, the problem arose after the EAC update, but not just because of the EAC update itself for me. It happened because I reinstalled DB trying to fix an entirely different issue (windowed mode not working correctly, which also isn’t fixed, but think that’s just my problem),

EDIT: So I was in game mode. I’m guessing that was part of a semi-recent update because I don’t remember seeing it before? I was automatically in game mode I suppose. Did the full delete again, and no doing a check disk, which I believe I’ve done before. Thanks for the unique advice. lol just when I think I thought of everything. It probably won’t work with my luck, but I appreciate it! Your last suggestion is still the best.

Sadly, nothing fixed it. Thanks for trying to help guys.

got he freezes too… nothing helped and they appear always when you are in a fight, which is kinda weird and annoying…

(Mc1412013) #35

@ImSploosh gues u need to send log files to sd???

(GatoCommodore) #36

i remember theres a fix with mipmap a while ago in reddit
i dont have the link tho

(K1X455) #37

Sploosh, if you can test your setup by increasing your RAM to 16GB and increase windows page file, you might decrease the 4 sec freeze.

I get freezes similar to most players (that make me miss my jumps, and enough to get me killed) but it’s no where near 1 second (maybe 50~220ms), but I’m using 32GB and ASUS RAM Cache to offload the high volume of HD i/o.

(Eox) #38

I do have freezes that happen very randomly. I can have none for a whole day as well as I can have two or three in the same match. I have no clue what causes them, but I though from the start that I was the only one with those kind of issues, and it was mostly due to the fact that my hard drive was old. Was I wrong ? D:

And I have like, 20GB of RAM. No kidding.

(henki000) #39

I was about to write my own freeze experiences, but Eox pretty much have same symptoms. Maybe more like 4-5 times in the same match. I have quite old and powerless rig. I haven’t still rule out my old HDD, because my 120gb SSD is full.

(brian770) #40

wow, i thought it was just me, i have been having these freezes now for over a month. random 3-4 second freezes and ya they suck. running win 10 with 16 gigs of memory with a FX 8350 , gforce 1060, 250 gig ssd. everything i have tried to do to fix it has failed.
