When will the freezes be fixed?

This has been a problem prevalent since the addition of EasyAntiCheat. The game freezes every minute or so for anywhere from a split second to 3-4 seconds. I’ve lost many games simply because my screen froze up. My specs are plenty for Dirty Bomb and I, along with many others, never had any problems until EAC was released. It really ruins the gameplay and is the most frustrating bug/problem I’ve seen to date (other than frequent crashes of course).

Here are my specs for reference:
CPU: AMD FX-6300
MOBO: MSI 970 Gaming
GPU: AMD R9 280
HDD: 1TB WD Blue
RAM: 8GB 1866 G Skills
OS: Windows 10
Playing on a LG TV (60Hz)

If anyone’s cured their freezes, please let me know how. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to post. I’ve tried A LOT of possible fixes and I’ve played with nearly every graphics setting as well. My guess is it’s something with EAC, but I’ve messed with a lot of things and turned all programs off except Dirty Bomb and still nothing yet.

I rarely experience gameplay issuezls despite having a measly laptop to play on. My main problems occur during loading screens, where it freezes and:
A. I get booted to the main menu
B. The game crashes and sometimes even closes Steam
C. Just straight up restarts my laptop

Lately I’ve been experiencing a lot of crashes when loading into a match. This is the only time they happen though. Once I’m in the match, it’s fine.

The freezes on the other hand have been happening for over a month, maybe 2 at this point. I know I’m not the only one having them and the problem has been rarely addressed as far as I know. I’d just like to know that it’s being looked into. It ruined a lot of ranked games for me especially.

The other issue I’m experiencing lately is a ton of lag/rubberbanding. This started up a week or so ago and has persisted since. But this I’m sure I can probably just blame on my internet (despite my ping being fine). The freezes are ultimately the main issue here. The frustrate me so much that I rage quit the game occasionally.

144 hz pannels on a 290x(well atleast till board partners release vega cards) and win 10 and a 100% ssd system works pretty flawless to me

I’ve had these freezes since MOFO update. First I fixed them by limiting the amount of process NGS can take with third party program to -90%. Then suddenly (about 1 month before EAC) this stopped working without a patch or anything, and since then I’ve had this issue. I hoped EAC would have fixed it but nope. I have no problems at all on other games.

I’m currently waiting for new parts for my PC, since my CPU or GPU broke and I decided to upgrade almost everything. I swear to god if the freezes are not gone with this!

I’ll give that a try, but I doubt it will fix anything. I’m getting full on freezes for 1-4 seconds. This didn’t happen before until the anticheat update. There was also a previous issue with NGS and freezes from what I remember.

EDIT: Doesn’t appear to work. It makes my game crash because EAC is giving me an error.
EDIT 2: Just finally managed to get into a game without crashing and it didn’t change anything. I’m getting freezes, not stutters. I believe they’re different lol. :frowning:

I have seen your comment, and I’m bit convinced either way. The chops and freezes occur anytime, in full servers, or ones with new joiners and leaversleaversven in loading screens. However, I have not experienced any of these symptoms in Ranked, even when I accidentally​play on EU (Asian), DB feels buttery smooth.

Yeah, definitely not from people joining. I haven’t been able to narrow down the cause. I just know that it never happened until the EAC update I believe (and there was a problem with NGS for a couple weeks, but can’t remember if there were freezes then too- I know there was major slowdowns though that made you lag like crazy).

It happens in Ranked for me. It happens in every gamemode and on all servers.

@ImSploosh I have a similar setup than you and in my case freezes mostly occur when someone does explosives off screen (so I can’t see them but hear them). Skyhammer, Stoker, Arty, Nader - they all manage to freeze my box quite effectively. Strangely, if I can actually see their explosives the frame rate is fine.

Yeah, I’ve actually heard this before. It may very well be the cause, but I don’t really know. It never happened before the EAC update (or one of those updates very close to it). I just want to be able to play again. This was such a smooth game (at least for me) in late 2015. I never had any problems at that time. :’(

Couldn’t really point my finger at one single possible source of the freezes - they just seem to happen every now and then. Quite frustrating when you are in CQC.

Anyways, the freezes have gotten worse. Now the freezes tend to last even longer and are making me lose ranked games often enough. Would like this to be fixed because it really is the worst problem with the game (especially combined with the laggy servers in the last year).

UE3 and texture streaming guys. I’ve bought a second SSD, it’s sadly becoming mandatory.

Be careful with your HDD @ImSploosh if things are getting worse. Start backing things up and test it with S.M.A.R.T.
