(AnthonyDa) #66

So is NDA officially lifted? So we can post some eventual video from the PS3 beta…

(DarkangelUK) #67

It’s the press NDA I believe, not the beta NDA.

(DepressedOptimist) #68

The guy delivered.

He has some great pics in the article.

I can’t wait to see any other article or video.

(Kabarka) #69

So its all written previews? No new footage whatsoever?

Can any1 tell me please -

“Pity the core shooting isn’t as impressive
Colour us Buzz Killington the Third, for ending things on a bit of a downer, but currently Brink’s combat feels slightly weedy and insubstantial. Right now, the core shooting isn’t quite on a par with the big hitters of the genre. Technically, there’s really nothing wrong with the action. Guns just don’t pack the impact of a Killzone. This is partly understandable, considering Splash Damage is trying to maintain a breakneck pace throughout. But that doesn’t excuse the fact Brink’s vast array of automatic rifles and pistols all feel fairly samey.”

«And the shooting? Almost as good. Compared to the bristling intensity of everything else, the aiming unfortunately seems a tad off. It’s far from broken, just feels a wee bit sloppy after you leap gracefully across a 30-foot drop, only then to find your face meeting the floor thanks to sludgy aiming. We remain hopeful this can be tweaked in time for the game’s release on May 20th however.»

What are they talking about? I don’t get the point.

They want COD-like shooting?

Well you know how PC gamers are all whiney elitist bitches. SURPRISE console gamers are too!

I was a little more concerned about the one observation of Syringes being able to pass through walls and the Use/Buff key moving you to the point of falling off platforms (unSMART). I really hope that’s a build issue and not something we’re going to be dealing with as part of the game.

Some actual gameplay video would be nice though even if it was just new screened, prepared, footage from SD rather than stuff previewers shot.

Sounds to me like that previewer wants each bullet to do more damage, therefore making it easier to kill people. OHK and all that jazz.

And the second bit honestly sounds like a controller sensitivity issue, but maybe he just didn’t express himself well. I think he was talking about aiming to do movement, not aiming to shoot, though he prefaced with “shooting”. Given how vague that paragraph is, I’m not sure he knows what he didn’t like, but it just felt off to him, since it wasn’t what he was used to.

(Nail) #73

lets call him a number 4 then

(badman) #74

Just to be clear - what expired today was an embargo on hands-on preview coverage. This is different and separate from the NDA signed by private beta participants, which will never expire.

(Crytiqal) #75

so absolutly no new information coming out??? :frowning:

(Kinjal) #76

lol, nice ))))

(trigg3r) #77

no, what he meant is that we won’t see any video or info from the PS3 beta testers.

(Herandar) #78

And since it appears that no one was allowed to record themselves playing at these press previews in New York City & San Francisco (and Germany? Haven’t really looked at the German previews), there will be no new videos. All videos I’ve seen so far have edited bits and pieces of already extant public vids, combined with new interview footage.

(trigg3r) #79

yeah, i guess we’ll have to wait 'till PAX to see new gameplay footage :frowning:

(AnthonyDa) #80

How can you find this “nice”? duh.
