When is the NDA gonna be lifted?

(ehrw) #1

Brink is roughly three months away. We still haven’t seen that much gameplay footage. When will the NDA be lifted? People ain’t educated enough about the game yet. Was on the Crysis 2 forums and read a bit in the Brink vs Crysis thread there. The same thread is on this forum as well. Some crysis people said they didn’t know enough about Brink to buy it.

That’s marketing.
We wanna see tons of more videos!

Saw this on twitter which made me wanna make this thread

How many more have a bunch of videos waiting to be released?

Also a twitter post saying

Anything fancy like fraps implemented in the game or something? ;>

(Kardec) #2

Yeah, I have also been curious about that twitter SD posted about Fraps… What are they up to ^^
And I hope the NDA will be lifted soon, since the beta is closed, (IMO) we should recieve more footage from the game, since we can’t experience it first hand

(0xT1) #3

Aren’t they usually lifted until openbeta/demo/release?

Hopefull it’ll be soon though, I’d hate to have these reporters store awesome footage only to have it be ‘obsolete’ by the time they’re given the chance to show it =p

(Wheelchairman) #4

well the homefront embargo was lifted like 2 months before release so sometime in march, id say we get it lifted

(AnthonyDa) #5

I don’t see why the NDA should be lifted before the game release/eventual demo.

(Kardec) #6

I have an assumption, that it is going to be lifted around the time of PAX East

(SockDog) #7

The embargoes are there to ensure fair coverage. SD can’t have everyone come to the office to play the game at the same time. Other people need to travel. Everyone, hopefully, needs time to digest and right up something worth reading.

If it’s just another wave of previews then I’d hope we’re looking at a week or so. Still it wouldn’t hurt to give us a date either.

(Weapuh) #8

Still scary to come across people who never heard of Brink before. Saw a fullpage ad on Gamespot though

Excited for when the NDA is lifted not really for the previews to tell me what i already know but to see how excited people are and hopefully providing SD with free publicity.

(trigg3r) #9

yeah, here’s hoping for more current gameplay footage (the container city videos are more than a year old)to show up soon. It’s not easy to get your friends to get exited about the game when they have never heard about it and there isnt much to show them.
still managed to convince 3 of them to preorder though

yeah, i saw an ad on IGN as well and smiled

(Protector) #10

Wasn’t the beta only for ps3? So any footage we see wont even be Brink at its best…

(H0RSE) #11

Even if ti was for xbox or PC, it still wouldn’t be at its best - it’s a beta…

(X-Frame) #12

According to gaming host Andrea Rene who got to see SD a couple days ago for a hands-on demo, the embargo is lifted on February 28th, 2011.

This is from her twitter that I would link if I wasn’t on my phone.

(Protector) #13

I ment graphically.

(Kryptyk Samurai) #14

Because that changes the gameplay…how? All the videos I’ve seen…even the really old ones…look great regardless of the platform.

Just checked it out, and that just sounds awesome, just 12 days until NDA is lifted, yay

(ehrw) #16

Then I suppose SD here wouldn’t mind confirming it?

Edit: Now there’s an SD tag on the thread but no post. Why does this keep happening? Did they remove the post or what?

(Fireseed) #17

It seems this is just a bug. Here are several Threads with SD tags, but not all including developer posts.
Or somebody here is an SD volunteer at undercover mission.

(ehrw) #18

Or some SD guy happened to remove his post cause he missclicked and uploaded the full game to the forums.
Or something like that

(badman) #19

We’ll all find out in a couple more days, won’t we?

(Herandar) #20

The logical explanation that I heard is that all posts by SD Employees are being reviewed before being released to the public. Once badman confirms that no classified information has been posted, the SD employee’s post appears, behind all of the posts that were written afterwards.

EDIT: Or badman posts a reply a mere minute before I do, making my response seem rather idiotic.
