When is ET Full coming out?

(MewThreeX) #1

We wanted to update everyone on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory progress. Thanks to dedicated gamers and testers, we’ve been working on fixing bugs and other issues that have been uncovered in the recently released map test. We’ve also been following feedback in the community to help us address any balance issues. We’re in the final phases of testing and tweaking and hope to be ready to release the full, free, stand-alone game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory early next week.

on Friday, May 09

Ok, it’s now 21 may… what is going on :???:

:bump:

You just asked the million dollar question we would all like an answer to.

I wonder if they would let it go on Memorial day?

itXi RED ANT

Not another one! They’re waiting for the janitor to unlock them from broom cupboard. Can’t release ET till they’re freed you see. They’d have to untie the ropes too and other objects we’ll not go in to.

I’ll take a stab and guess SD thought it was ready but ID didn’t sign off on it but asked for some changes which they are now implementing. ID is very conscious of QA since their name is on the product.

Maybe they decided to take another crack at getting the bot code finished. The bot code is so close to completion it would be a shame to abandon it.

They finished ET, but they forgot to tell us, because they are busy playing it 24/7!

Untill they are too tired to play anymore, here is a piece that Wils (Lead Level Designer, Splash Damage) wrote in this http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1280 thread:

Hiya, I thought I’d respond to a few things

SD is developing Enemy Territory, id are executively producing it, and Activision are publishing it - including all the standard things a publisher does, such as production, quality assurance and anything like press releases and managing open (read: to the online community) beta testing.

As much as we’d like to tell you when the game is coming out, it’s Activision/id’s call - the best we can give you is a feeble ‘when it’s ready’, which is something of a non-answer. You already know that much, surely?
