When friendly fire is off… teammates should still die when they run on another teammate’s mine…

Otherwise one teammate can spoil it for the rest and run over the other teammates mines without getting hurt, wasting engy’s time :slight_smile:

Mines should blow up WITHOUT CAUSING ANY HARM to teammates regardless if FF is on or OFF. That will solve engies problem who get kicked becuase they accidently blow up teammates.

You shouldnt be able to complain against your own teammate for standing on ther mine. They shouldnt have FF disabled on them though has thi would just be silly.

Yeah the solution is very simple:

When a teammate trips over a mine, he dies.

But he can’t complain about it.

Everybody happy.

That’s an open invitation for teamkillers to mines command posts, ramps to bridges, friendly machineguns, etc. What is better than to be able to kill your teammates and get away with it?! In this way you are giving them exactly what they want. Every map is full of chokepoints they can take advantage of.

Best solution is not te let friendlies trigger mines. A bit unrealistic, yes. But for the “good” (clan)servers SD could enable admins to allow the triggering.

The mines could/should still be disarmed by friendlies with 2-3 grenades, so they still have the ability to disarm mines (for example if one is planted on a useless spot), but they wont have the possibility to disarm all mines on their own. Engies should have dramatically increases powerbar requirements to disarm, to avoid competition between engies.

This is the way to make everybody happy, there are no drawbacks here, are there?

[edit]You should be able to disarm your own mines at a reduced powerbar cost, just to quickly relocate them.

I think the FF on mines should stay on but without the file to complain ,if there is a case of a tker planting them in dumb places on purpose just call the vote to kick ,i know this is still frustrating but overall i think its the best policy and keeps it more interesting in the long run with the realism that you still after look out for any mine.I would prefer this to keep on aswell as you can go days sometimes without TKers in sight.
Also if Admin is around hes gone soon enough without the vote to kick,and a nice ban to follow :slight_smile:

All this IMO adds up to leave the FF on the mines but just disable the File for it.

if a covops has spotted yr mines and you see the allies storming the front or side entrance you can deliberately go and blow 1 and maybe 2 mines and kill’em all, how about that for a suicide run?
