when do you think the BETA will come out?

I’m allmost certain that the FP Beta sign ups will start next friday, i was looking to earlier betas and they all started at friday. And next friday is getting near to end of April too, so if they are on sticking to their plan, it should be soon anyways.

Does anyone have idea what time of the day sign ups usually start?

Closed beta means that you aren’t allowed to talk about gameplay, bugs and so on in public. There are beta forums where all things regarding the beta are discussed.

We are talking about the upcoming gamespy semi open beta for any 50000 to 60000 gamespy subscribers here? Pretty hard to handle NDA for that.

If there’s nda and you agree to it you will have to keep with it. Of course all the internet can’t be controlled (for example intern forum sections), but you can have a try and make a website about the beta and you will see what you get.

on a beta trying to stress the servers to see how they handle when they are tested under great deal of users they would have a hard time with all those NDA’s especially when they are made up of unknown file planet subscribers chosen at random. I got doubts that they will use NDA

it seems that the game is getting quite far into development and into the beta stage so i don’t think the game play would be far removed from what you will expect in the final game

I base this around fileplanets release of another beta shooter at that same time last week.
And they said ‘mid-april’, so too much longer after this thursday is going to be ‘late’ april.

I’m not waiting for the beta, but waiting for the game to be released.

I’m like that homeless dude hanging near a grocery store looking for food, and refuses to leave. That is analogous to never signing off these forums, check them everyday, and post in whatever thread that one can come with answers.

This is my daily routine.

Wake up and go to school
Go to class
Stay in school and check www.splashdamage.com/forums on school’s computer.
On that same computer, surf the web for some other sites pertaining to quake wars
Go back to www.splashdamage.com/forums to see if any new posts have arisen.
repeat previous 2 steps while eating a ham, corned beef, salami, cheddar, mozzarella, swiss chese sandwich until around 17:30 central time.
Go home and check www.splashdamage.com/forums on home computer.
play doom quake or wolfenstein
surf web for any thing related to quake wars
Check www.splashdamage.com/forums yet again
repeat previous 3 steps until 2 in the morning while eating.
Watch TV, (optional, but mandatory on fridays and saturdays)
Get yelled at.
Go to sleep

Cycle is then repeated.

Homeless bum = me
Grocery store = www.splashdamage.com/forums
Food = quake wars info
When grocery store is closed for business and groceries in stock is sold for free for clearance = release date

When the game is released, there is a chance that i will hang around another forum to the game I desperately want next (can’t think of any), which is like that same bum targeting another grocery store.

they update their site a few times a day. they just took that alpha strike from below and put it up top. i expect the quake wars beta thing to be on the top by itself.

for content such as demos and mods, they do update few times a day…but they only run like 2 exclusive beta’s per week or promote about two per week. But i could be wrong, but this is what i have seen for many years…

Agreed! Also one might want to check out #splashdamage on the mIRC…if…and I mean really BIG if is anounced it will show up on the mIRC AND splahsdamge…so far no anouncement and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO beta.

and that goes for ALL of the “release dates” on every other website about the game. THEY ARE ALL WRONG! Activision and splashdamage still says “when it’s done”. End of story case shut!
