When can we get team number balance IN match, like Call of Duty. Im tired of seeing matches go 5v7

(KayDubz) #1

Has this been addressed yet?

Nevermind player level-balance, this game badly needs auto balance for even numbered teams like in Call of Duty and other shooters. It completely wrecks matches when 1 or 2 people leave a match and then people refuse to switch sides in order to balance. The match becomes an uncompetitive mess, if it already wasn’t one.

Matches should ALWAYS seek to balance the teams out by number of players on each side. As soon as someone leaves, the game should automatically force balance the teams.

What about players that get attached to their side (defense or offense) and aren’t there just for frags ? If people are randomly shuffled around during a match, they’re likely to stop caring and play it like a mindless shooter. Like CoD.

There are ways to balance which don’t have this flaw. Such as:

  • surplus players don’t respawn immediately. They are put in respawn queue.

In a 5 vs 7 scenario, players in the bigger team only respawn up to 5. The remaining 2 players will respawn in the next wave and someone else will have to wait extra.

(KayDubz) #4

Its much better for matches to be balanced 6 v6 . rather than 8 v 6 or 7v 4. Ive seen that happen to many times.

Its not that people are attached to their teams either…its because they know the game turned into an onslaught, and they wont voluntarily switch in order to have an even match. The game already becomes a mindless shooter when one team is up by two men, and can camp the other spawn constantly.

(jazevec) #5

Speak for yourself. I do become attached to my team and want it to win the game.

When you’re randomly switched to another side, you in practice end up working against yourself. So you pulled off an awesome repair on Bridge ? Great ! Enjoy defending the generator for 15 minutes. It feels like you’re being punished for doing well.

If you want Call of Duty, you know where to find it.

(KayDubz) #6

^Such a dumb response.

ITS NOT JUST CALL OF DUTY THAT HAS AUTO BALANCE! Many many shooters have auto balance during a game. I merely used COD and CS as examples.

Why should 5 people be punished and wrecked for another 10 minutes because 1 or 2 people leave a match? Lack of balance ruins a match. You being auto assigned to balance out team numbers does not ruin the match.

Read what the guy actually said. He actually gave the best idea for balancing un-even teams. A respawn queue.

His words:

“* surplus players don’t respawn immediately. They are put in respawn queue.”

I don’t really play public, and when I do, I don’t really care about balance. But I agree this might make things much better for pub players.

Good suggestion Jazevec (aren’t you czech btw? :D)

I am seriously getting sick of you dislike clickers, the Jazevec guy is completely right with his comments and there is freaking nothing bad with them. Also as the only guy here, he provided actually a very good suggestion on how to fix the unbalance issue.

Please use your brains… really…

(neverplayseriou) #10

@Pecka how about you use your brains? The guy offered no solution at all…

(Pecka) #11

@sensitiveJellyfish what about reading his full comments:

From his words (and it’s the only suggested solution in this topic

"* surplus players don’t respawn immediately. They are put in respawn queue.

In a 5 vs 7 scenario, players in the bigger team only respawn up to 5. The remaining 2 players will respawn in the next wave and someone else will have to wait extra."

People who aren’t onbly for frags will keep doing the objective for the other team.
I thought about the thing you are writing here, too. It would be a solution, too.
Best would be if the best in the stomping team gets blocked until the terams are fair again, or he switches and can play. Or he gets kicked out.
I believe a good player who can carry the team should ALWAYS care for blance more than his personal bunch of EXP.

matchmaking is still horrible. In the end it doesnt matter if you win or lose, it is about fair teams to support the system and provide a joyable & fun time of playing in my opinion.

U should use your brain too prbly sometimes.

(Yes) #14

@Pecka It’s a much worse solution than forcing balance because it will essentially take 2 people out of the game every spawn wave. How is making people unable to play better than just switching one person and everyone gets to continue playing?

(ostmustis) #15

yes, lets punish the winning team for making the other team lose!

(neverplayseriou) #16

@Pecka where are his words exactly???

"Speak for yourself. I do become attached to my team and want it to win the game.

And even if he had said that it would be a useless solution.

It has to take them out, because the game is un-balanced?

  • You don’t want to wait? Join the other team and balance the game!

  • You don’t want to switch teams? You have to wait until next spawn because the teams are unbalanced at the moment.

This is the best solution, as forcing auto-team switch is extremely annoying for the reasons already mentioned by Jazevec.

What is enjoyable on being force moved to opposing team? Imagine you spend good 10 minutes of intense fight for defending something, doing best from your team and BAM, you are attacking… This is the most annoying thing, being force moved to different team just because of un-balance. Now take stopwatch where it can be even worse, you defend a good time, now you are on attacking side, doing quite intense fight to beat the time… And BAM you are moved to other team, basically screwing up your last 20 minutes of game…

Come on guys

First it’s in hist post above the one you quoted, are you not really seeing it? :dizzy:

Second, I don’t understand what you mean by people actually not joining a match…

As he explained… Game for some reason gets 5vs6, then a person dies in the team with 6 players, it goes to respawn queue. When another person from the 6 man team dies, the first person in the que spawns.

This is common solution to team balancing in other games and it just works well and it’s the only fair solution…

Obviously it wouldn’t switch anyone when there’s very little time left in the game and obviously it wouldn’t switch anyone the second their team has 2+ extra players. There will be warnings and a set time before it forces someone and if you don’t switch in that time, then you or anyone from your team deserves to be forced onto the other team.

People that sit in a stacked team shouldn’t have their feelings considered, they were being dicks in the first place.

How could you sympathise with someone who goes like this:
“Oh no! I’ve been forced onto the other team, but I was enjoying my stomp!”

Yeah, those are definitely the kinds of people that should be catered to…
