What's the best "Brink entitlement" story you have?

No flaming. No trolling. Just for fun. When I was over on the bethesda boards. Every six minutes it seemed like someone posted a new thread posting about what brink “needed to have”.

I found these to be kind of frustrating. But sometimes looking back the more ridiculous ones were entertaining.

So share your most fond story.

Mine was that one time a guy posted that since it said “Jah lick them with thundah” on the grenade in the first theatrical trailer that the developers should allow us to write on our bullets. Or it’s “false advertising.” He also requested a kill cam. And got mad when people asked him when exactly we would actually be able to read the writing on the bullets in the game.

He later posted that the kill cam he requested should show EVERYONE playing his cool bullet writing in slow motion hitting his victim in the face. He was then criticized again. And he changed half of what he wrote in an effort to save face.

(I’m not bashing the guy. It was just funny)

The victim sees the killcam (exactly as in the theatrical trailer with the bullet text in slow mo) and I would write: “Owned by Crytiqal” on it :stuck_out_tongue:

Brink needs Hardcore mode
Brink needs DM, TDM, CTF
Brink guns require too many bullets to kill, change this or game will fail
Brink needs OHK sniper rifles
Brink needs OHK knife attacks

those are some off the top of my head.

#1 request is that the operative becomes a god-class which has a multitude of abilities and advantages. That way they can play as that while everyone else some how never discovers more than the other three.

Didn’t you hear? They replaced the Operative class. The new lineup is Soldier, Medic, Engineer, and Batman.

Could you imagine how obnoxious it would be if every time someone got a head shot everyone’s game got interrupted with the kill cam or something? Even if it was in the corner of your screen or some weird crap like that? Just to satisfy the ego on some of these guys?

Wishes, wants, suggestions, opinions are not exclusive to being obnoxiously entitled. The latter I would attribute more to people who form an opinion and then steadfastly refuse to budge regardless of any amount of sensible reasoning, even if it means lying through their teeth or being plain ridiculous to do so.

One I remember while lurking, Either here or on the Bethesda forums( think it was here) was there should be no areas that only Light body types can access.

Yeah but some people think because they “might” pre-order the game. That the developers should immediately get to work on their grocery list of suggestions. When they haven’t even moderately researched anything about the game. That equals entitlement on some level.

Absolutely. And these opinions or wants need to be made directly to the person(s), with the delusional belief that action will be taken. Otherwise you just have people discussing opinions to other people, which is the whole purpose of a forum.

This excludes when say, a developer reads a discussion, and poses the question about the topic and people discuss their viewpoints. Which has been often misinterpreted as a sense of entitlement.

As far as the OT:

The dude who asked SplashDamage, for a list of things they had done in a 7 day period.

Demanding of course is being a total entitled prick. Throwing out whacky ideas around the game I just don’t think is bad, makes for fun discussions*.

The other issue is just plain ignorance which may go hand in hand with certain entitled people but isn’t the same.

  • It’s fun and interesting under some kiljoy comes in and Judge Dredds the thread with 101 reasons why it won’t happen in Brink so shouldn’t be discussed.

There are underwater levels - not underwater like actually in the water, but levels that take place in buildings/institutions under the water.

They have some kind of underwater aquarium level.

I saw one kid on the Bethesda forums complain that if the challenges were too hard and he couldn’t get all the gear from them, he would return the game. Don’t know if that counts as entitlement, but I thought it was pretty childish and funny.

The “too many bullets to kill” people drive me nuts too, insisting less bullets = more skill in their strange backwards land.
