Whats everyones fps...part 2

(Term) #1

alright im very bored and ill get flamed but hey who cares.
I was bored today so i did some major tweaking on ET and i set max fps to 500 just for a laugh… and this was the result.

Note: That was coz i stared up to the sky, while running about i got 300 - 350 no probs.
I have draw gun off and i dunno where my crosshair is incase anyone asks heh. its a tiny red dot anyhoo.
Specs are: Gforce fx 5200 gfx card, 1mb cable modem, pentium 4 3 gig processor and 512mb of ram

That was just a bit of fun. Im back to my old stuff and i get my average 150fps

Download, run timedemo, post result, then we can compare numbers that at least have some meaning.

Edit: link page is screwed up, but download link is there (and here).

very cool tool that
anyhoo result where 87.4fps average on the settings i usually use which is spot on coz i get routhly nearly 90fps all the time outdoors but i get my 150fps indoors, which i think is weird. Can i ask why your ping jumps up if you go indoors???

That 400+ ping was due to major tweaking, looking into the air and not moving about heh  . the map was ctf_multi or whetever you call it and for some reaosn i could walk about it with 300+ fps

All confuzzling this stuff tbh :bored:

(Sqwirral) #4

Average of 77.9fps
I had a few other things running when I did it. As for why your fps drops outdoors, it’s all about the vis, you can see more areas outside so it has more to draw.

I hate all of you :skull:

Ive never tried this, I should with my new vid card. I got the radeon x800 XT p.e. AMD 64 pro. and Gig of corsair DDR ram.

Thast right…be jelous. But im guessing thell be UP! there. I know i have mine cvapped at 130 because I was told that was optimum play rate.

(Major Wang) #8

My FPS is capped at 76 using a 5700 Ultra.

You’ll find strafe jumping much better at 125

Ah thank you. I’ll go change that.

(Subterfuge) #11

Well, using Saurons great find i managed a score of 111.4 FPS in 44.8 sec’s. This is on a MSI9800XXL.

Usually I cap at 76 on 1280x1024!

(senator) #12

30 FPS, congratulation, your e-penis is bigger than mine.

Ran two sets with that demo. First time I kept my desktop resolution at 1280x1024 with ET running in my default of 800x600. Results, 51.4fps and 51.3fps. Again but rebooted at 800x600 and the results were 51.6fps twice. For all I’ve seen it recommended that you play games in the same resolution your desktop is set… .25 fps difference isn’t squat. Is there some other reason I don’t know of?
