but… what if I want to be a noob…
What would you teach a n00b in Dirty Bomb?
IMO noob(s) don’t learn, newbies do. I would glad to share everything i know to newbie but not noob(s). Noob(s) have no intention of learning in game, they just do whatever they want, they have their own world where it’s out of reach by us normal players.
good… i was worried there for a minute @bontsa
I learn… I learn… sometimes… Like… just the other day I learned it is sometimes a good idea to aim in a FPS. Trying to aim actually helps…
“You see those E and Q keys? Use them… and no Skyhammer, Airstrikes in your own spawn aren’t useful”
Basic gameplay aside…
Learn the maps and learn the spawns including times.
Learn what area of the maps you need to control in order to accomplish the mission and positions to take to take control of those zones that are around objectives.
Learn how to approach these places and where to place stations, turrets, mines etc. and also yourself for maximum effiency.
Learn to approach those places that most likely have opponents, this includes things mentioned above and also possible snipers.
Difference in attack and defence is that in attack you are in constant motion, pushing and exploiting cracks in enemy when they lose players especially going to long spawn. Whenever you can, flank.
In defence you mostly stay in same position (which isn’t same as standing in the same spot.) unless you need to rotate when enemy tries to exploit your exposed side.
Don’t let enemy just run around your team and least you can do is tell that somebody is at their back. Be aware of flanking (and ninjaplants, repairs, deliveries).
In defence you sometimes need to be aggressive and push up in order to disrupt the opponents ability to bring next fresh spawn wave to the front line or that they can’t wall you to a corner and spam you to death (chapel).
In attack remember to push. There isn’t time to waste. Pushing isn’t same as headless chicken rushing or running the same route to the objective (like road to the ev in Chapel). It’s about pressing the enemy so they can’t heal, reload, rotate etc.
This isn’t camping simulator, this is fast paced first person shooter.
These things you don’t learn at first and even don’t have to but the attitude towards the idea of learning these is vital if you want to “git gud” over time in this game.
Same principles apply to other games as well.
Stoker 101 red fire bad. blue fire good… end of lesson where my free gold stoker ???
blue fire…?
last time i checked it was green xD
more yellowish
Just don’t be a dick. Even if you’re bad at the game, you can get better, but if you’re a dick, you ruin the game for everyone no matter your skill.
Never try to panic jump while you are shooting, if your spread goes wider than enemy hitbox, ADS right away.
If desperate situation force you to confuse enemy’s aiming, try to ADS while jumping for death throes.
Reload Cancel technique helps your fast reload while in urgent situation, BUT most important, it resets the spread to starting spread.
After having them read most of what’s already been said, I would try to emphasize to new players that playing the objective doesn’t mean running in a straight line at the bomb site or EV. The number of times I’ve seen new players and even veterans sprint straight into 5 enemies as proxy without waiting for their teammates to work picks or get into good positions is ridiculous…
Playing the objective properly means helping your teammates get frags while staying alive so that you can make the fast plant or repair once the time is right.
