What We're Playing: Our Games of the Year

A new blog entry has been added:
[drupal=737]What We’re Playing: Our Games of the Year[/drupal]

With 2010 and a (hopefully) gaming-laden holiday period firmly behind us, what better time to look back at 2010 and pick our favourite games of the year? With so many great games released last year, we asked people here at the office to pick the cream of the crop and, naturally, the reasons why. Nothing reflects the diversity and quality of last year’s line-up as much as the fact that there’s no universal favourite in our picks.
Oh, before we dive in, don’t forget to let us know which games released in 2010 were your favourites. We can’t wait to find out!

Angry birds has printed a significant mark on last year for me
Other than that, League of Legends was my #1 game.

Pinball FX2 - before, after, and in between all other games.

  1. Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Rush was introduced and the C4 whores put down (eventually). I have learned to love Conquest, and Squad Deathmatch is incredibly fun for small groups and works just fine played seriously, or just to hang out while catchin’ up on the latest with friends. DICE introduced several genre changing innovations including tagging/spotting, squad spawning, and unparalleled teamwork rewards.

1a. BC2:Vietman - I have become an actor in all my favorite 70s and 80s Vietnam movies.

  1. Mass Effect 2 - What a game! (caveat - needs more one liners for the Krogan. I never want to hear about his blood lust again).

  2. Red Dead Redemption - I could taste the dust in my franks and beans.

I played Fallout: New Vegas for most of the year, (when it FINALLY came out). But i play NHL11 and couple other games here and there. Like the original Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike, and Resistance. (for resistance i was probably in the hundreds for my online rank)

ET:QW of course. Still the best shooter out there I reckon.

SC2 gor one of my mates playing the free demoe, just so we could talk about it.

SC2 and APB (at least until it blew up and died) were just about the only games i enjoyed this year… Most others were decent distractions but nothing memorable. APB was due to community experience SC2 i just enjoy.

Played a lot of BF2BC, Eve, DCUO, Scribblenauts and plants vs zombies as well this year.

God I wish I could play some NoQuarter right now.

And Brace, dammit.
