[drupal=724]What We’re Playing: Bonfire Night Edition[/drupal]

Welcome to the latest installment of What We’re Playing, our semi-regular look at what games the guys and gals here at Splash have been playing lately. It seems hardly possible, but Mount and Blade: Warband has stealthily usurped the long-standing king of Splash Damage lunchtime gaming, Left 4 Dead 2, replacing hordes of zombies with mobs of peons. Add to that Olivier’s DJ Hero 2 escapades, the newly launched Rock Band 3 (complete with keyboard), and IT’s daily FIFA 11 bonanzas, and you’ve got a pretty good idea of what goes on here at the office at midday.
But that’s not all. A whole new wave of games has taken over our collective spare time, led by the insidious Game Dev Story, proving quite effectively that it’s all about technique. To find out what else we’ve played lately, and to see our amazing Game Dev Story office leaderboard, keep on reading!

Good stuff. Interesting to see the variety and currency (time related as in old or new) of the games played.

I got Pinball FX2 last week and proudly hold the top spots on my friends list in 11 of the 13 tables. While the original tables were ugly, simple, and uninspired, the new tables are fantastic. They have added some automated “trash talking” messaging system for when you beat your friends scores, and my friends and I now call the X button, the “Privilege” button because you have to earn the privilege to send the “I just beat your top score” message.

My favorite tables are Pashaand Secrets of the Deep, and I play them before work and after I get home. With a buffed wizard score I have already earned my free avatar shirt and am working on getting the hoodie. Joy!

Nimbus on steam is awesome :smiley:
Held a few top spots to begin with but those have been slowly crumbling away.
Cannot wait for super meat boy to hit pc… its going to be epic, played a bit on the 360 and fell in love.
Also, freeware game “Super Crate Box” is sucking a lot of my time away at the moment! Simple twist on standard collection games :D!

(and back to vvvvvv for the last few shineys :x)

Here ya go, enjoy the Flash Version which it was based on.

I’ve been playing Fallout: New Vegas, and there’s no greater satisfaction than punching a baby deathclaw in the face and watching it explode from my awesomeness

thanks, I played it when it came out, been dipping into it again recently. Sadly the controls are far from tight on it so i have been grabbing goes on my friends 360 and playing vvvvvv like a nutter.
When they first announced super meat boy i thought i was just a release of the flash one onto the 360 so i was wondering what everyone was getting excited about XD
