What was planned but not realized?

I wonder what features were originally planned for Enemy Territory Multiplayer.

I know that bots have been planned but were not realized. What else was planned but not realized?

there was the ability to specify player skins by map, so that you could run snow skins on winter maps and temperate uniforms in desert maps, etc

When looking at the map, there are three coloured area’s so I think they cut three Europe maps and joined the 2 Europe campaigns (east and central) into one.

Loads of map changes have taken place since the first screenshots (check GameSpys archive on ET stuff for old HUDS, Guis, Ingame Shots, Weapons, Skins etc…)

And afaik Male/Female and different Skinned models were planned. Only what I heard/read elsewhere, nothing official.

apparently they had intended lockpicks to be in the game, but either never got around to coding them or removed them at some point.

there’s also references to tripmines, which again was either not finished or was removed at some point.

I read in some advertising blurb that fireteams could drop waypoint markers. If you look at te fire team speaks there are some which talk about waypoints but since you can’t set a waypoint they are redundant

FTMeetWaypoint “Meet at waypoint!”
FTAttackWaypoint “Attack waypoint!”
FTDefendWaypoint “Defend waypoint”

I think setting fire team waypoints would be really cool fun but maybe a bit over the top.

i could see waypoints being used maybe in competition games, but never in pub games.

there is however a waypoint model in et, it’s just not used :moo:

Would give a more strategic/tactical approach. Usually just better with a Regroup chat bind. :stuck_out_tongue:
